Desperation Blade

Quickstart

Craft the blade at a crafting table using its automatically unlocked recipe:

Equip it in your main hand and attack as usual. Try fighting while injured or with hostile mobs nearby, then check the blade’s tooltip for its current Extra damage.

Overview

The Desperation Blade is a one-handed sword that deals bonus damage when you are low on health or surrounded by threats. It has iron-sword attack stats and a constant enchantment-like shimmer.

How To Use

Hold the blade in your main hand when attacking. The bonus is calculated when you strike; holding it in your off hand does not add damage.

Abilities And Mechanics

The blade adds damage based on your current health and nearby threats:

• Each missing heart adds 1 damage.
• Each nearby hostile mob or non-spectator player adds 0.5 damage. They must be within 8 blocks.
• The tooltip’s Extra damage value shows the current combined bonus.

Nearby friendly creatures do not count unless they are hostile mobs; spectator players are excluded.

The recipe is unlocked automatically. You can also find the blade in the Combat section of the Creative inventory.
