Radiant Orbblade

Quickstart

1. Obtain the Radiant Orbblade by crafting it with , using the Combat creative tab, or using:

   /give @s radiant-orbblade-pmficiwk:radiant_orbblade_pmficiwk
   

2. Equip it and use right-click to summon a small light orb at your eye level. The orb remains still until you steer it.
3. Use the default controls below to move the orb. Your horizontal movement controls are based on the direction you are facing.
4. While holding the Orbblade, sneak and right-click to expand the orb and purify nearby hostiles. If you have no orb in range, this action summons and immediately activates one.

You can rebind these keys under Options → Controls → Radiant Orbblade Controls.

Overview

The Radiant Orbblade is a glowing, single-stack sword that combines powerful melee attacks with remote light-orb control. Its orb can illuminate open areas, travel through the air under your direction, and unleash a short-lived purification field.

The Orbblade can also mine any block at extremely high speed.

What It Adds

• Radiant Orbblade: A netherite-based sword with exceptionally high attack damage.
• Controllable light orb: Summon and guide a bright orb through the world.
• Temporary illumination: The orb places a bright light at its current position when it occupies an air block.
• Purification: Expand the orb to remove nearby hostile mobs, including phantoms.
• Player healing: Players near the purification field receive powerful healing effects.

How To Use

Summoning the Orb

Right-click with the Orbblade while not sneaking. If you do not already have an owned orb within control range, a new orb appears at your eye level.

The orb starts stationary. Press a movement key to accelerate it, then use the controls to guide it horizontally or vertically. It can be controlled while it is within 256 blocks of its owner.

Right-clicking normally while an owned orb is already in range does not create another nearby orb.

Activating Purification

Sneak and right-click with the Orbblade to expand an owned orb. The expansion:

• Removes living hostile mobs within roughly 8 blocks of the orb.
• Includes phantoms.
• Affects nearby living players within the same range.
• Gives those players Regeneration II for 10 seconds.
• Immediately grants Instant Health II.

Purification happens once per activation. The expanded orb lasts for about 2 seconds before disappearing. If you have multiple owned orbs within control range, sneak-right-clicking activates all of them.

Melee and Mining

The Orbblade is a sword, so use it for close-range attacks as well as orb control. It deals extremely high damage.

It is also effective against every block and has very high mining speed, allowing rapid excavation.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is automatically unlocked when you join the world. You can also find the item in the Combat creative inventory.

Ingredients include glowstone, diamonds, an ender pearl, and a stick:

The Orbblade does not consume materials or ammunition when summoning or activating an orb.

Abilities And Mechanics

Orb Movement

The orb uses acceleration rather than teleporting directly to a target. Hold a direction to build speed, and release all movement keys to stop it. Its movement is relative to the owner's horizontal facing direction:

• Up Arrow: forward
• Down Arrow: backward
• Left Arrow: the owner's right
• Right Arrow: the owner's left
• Period: upward
• Comma: downward

The orb is not affected by gravity. Terrain can obstruct its movement, so guide it through open spaces when positioning it at a distance.

Orb Lighting

A normal orb follows its current position with a temporary bright light. The light is placed only when the orb's current block is air, and the previous orb light is removed as the orb moves.

When the orb disappears, its temporary light is removed as well.

Purification Field

Purifying an orb enlarges its radiant display and immediately checks the area around it. Hostile mobs in the field are discarded rather than damaged, making the ability useful for clearing groups of enemies from a distance.

The healing effects apply to every living player caught in the field, not only the Orbblade's owner.

Progression And Strategy

• Summon the orb first, then guide it into a cave, room, or elevated position before activating purification.
• Use the vertical controls to place the orb above groups of mobs or to reach hostile areas that are difficult to approach directly.
• Keep the orb within 256 blocks so you can continue steering or activate it remotely.
• Purify near allies to give everyone in the field Regeneration II and Instant Health II.
• Use the Orbblade's extreme melee damage when enemies get too close, and its high mining speed when preparing a route for the orb.
