Demogorgolin

Quickstart

• In Creative mode, search for Demogorgolin Spawn Egg and use it on the ground.
• You can also summon one with:

  /summon com_demogorgolin_y4do6vcv:myhoglin
  

• Keep your distance: Demogorgolin attacks players and nearby mobs without needing direct line of sight.
• Spawn one in a walled arena to test its attacks, health, knockback resistance, and ability to overpower other creatures.
• Use a Name Tag to name it or a Lead to restrain it. There is no crafting recipe for the Demogorgolin Spawn Egg.

Overview

Demogorgolin is a powerful hoglin-like monster built for destruction. It has 85 health, resists much of the knockback that would normally push mobs away, and searches for players and other mobs within 64 blocks.

It is aggressive toward almost anything classified as a mob, including players. Once it acquires a target, it attacks with heavy melee strikes and can alert nearby Demogorgolins.

How To Use

Spawning

Demogorgolin can be spawned in two ways:

• Use the Demogorgolin Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory.
• Run /summon com_demogorgolin_y4do6vcv:myhoglin.

Naturally spawned Demogorgolins appear under these conditions:

• In the Crimson Forest biome
• In underground areas
• At brightness level 0–7
• On Normal or Hard difficulty
• In groups of 1–2
• Not on Nether Wart Blocks or Shroomlights

Natural spawns are mostly adults, with a small chance of producing a baby.

Naming and Restraining

Demogorgolin can be named with a Name Tag and restrained with a Lead. Its large body and high knockback resistance make open areas dangerous places to manage one.

Abilities And Mechanics

Combat

An adult Demogorgolin has:

• 85 health
• 20–30 melee attack damage
• 0.6 knockback resistance
• A target range of up to 64 blocks
• Melee attacks that track targets while moving

It attacks both players and other mobs. It does not need to see its target before selecting it, so hiding behind a wall may not be enough to escape.

When it acquires a target, it becomes angry for a short time and can broadcast its anger to other Demogorgolins within 16 blocks. Fighting one near a group can quickly turn into a much larger battle.

Movement and Environment

Demogorgolin can:

• Walk and jump
• Climb
• Cross water, although it avoids water
• Avoid blocks that would damage it
• Be pushed by pistons
• Take damage from lava

It naturally despawns when it is far enough away, so keep one contained or nearby if you are using it for an arena or display.

Baby Demogorgolins

Baby Demogorgolins are half-sized but remain dangerous. They deal 20 melee damage and move slightly faster than adults.

A baby:

• Follows its parent
• Grows into an adult after about 20 minutes
• Can be fed Crimson Fungus to help it grow
• Provides three riding seats for Piglins

Breeding And Growing

Feed Crimson Fungus to two adult Demogorgolins to breed them. They do not need to be tamed first. Breeding produces a baby Demogorgolin, which eventually grows into an adult.

Drops And Experience

When killed, an adult Demogorgolin drops:

• 3–6 Porkchops
• 1–3 Leather when killed by a player

If it dies while on fire, the porkchops are dropped as cooked porkchops instead. Looting can increase the drop amounts.

A player who kills a Demogorgolin receives 5 experience points. Breeding Demogorgolins also provides a random amount of breeding experience.

Progression And Strategy

• Fight it in a wide, prepared arena rather than a cramped tunnel.
• Use distance and terrain carefully, but do not rely on walls alone to break its targeting.
• Avoid fighting near other Demogorgolins because anger can spread between them.
• Use fire to cook its porkchop drops automatically.
• If you want to display or manage one, name it and keep it on a Lead in a secure enclosure.
• Test its destructive behavior against other mobs only after clearing nearby areas you want to protect.
