Corrupted End Stalker
Quickstart
- The Corrupted End Stalker spawns naturally at night or underground on Normal and Hard difficulty — keep your eyes open in dark areas or head to The End for a higher encounter rate.
- Use a Corrupted End Stalker Spawn Egg to summon one instantly in Creative mode.
- Kill it to collect a guaranteed Glitch Shard, then gather a Blaze Rod and a Breeze Rod.
- Combine all three at a Crafting Table (shapeless) to craft the Glitch Shard Sword.
- Equip the sword and start swinging — every hit afflicts the target with Slowness III and Wither II for 6 seconds.
Overview
The Corrupted End Stalker is a grotesque, undead End-entity wrapped in bloody textures and digital glitch artifacts. It relentlessly hunts players on sight, boasts an enormous 400-health pool, and demands serious preparation before engaging. Defeating one rewards you with rare drops and a key crafting ingredient for one of the most punishing weapons in the game.
What It Adds
| Content | Description |
|---|

| Glitch Shard Sword | Powerful weapon; 12 damage + Slowness III + Wither II on hit |
Abilities And Mechanics
Corrupted End Stalker
- Health: 400 — it takes a prolonged, well-equipped fight to bring one down.
- Melee Attack: Deals 10 damage per hit with significant reach.
- Speed: Moves briskly in calm state; surges to a faster sprint once enraged.
- Knockback Resistance: Has partial knockback resistance, making it hard to stagger.
- Aggro Range: Detects players up to 64 blocks away. Simply looking directly at it will instantly enrage it, just like an Enderman.
- Teleportation: Randomly teleports, making it difficult to pin down — it can blink up to 32 blocks away at a time.
- Water Weakness: Takes 1 damage per tick when in contact with water and 4 damage per tick in lava. Water is a viable escape tool.
- Undead Family: Treated as undead (affected by Smite enchantment and relevant potions).
- Persistence: Once it locks onto you, it tracks you for up to 60 seconds and re-selects targets aggressively — running rarely works for long.
Glitch Shard Sword
- Attack Damage: 12 — higher than a Netherite sword.
- Durability: 2031 uses with a variable damage-chance mechanic per swing.
- On-Hit Effects (applied to every target struck):
- Slowness III — 6 seconds
- Wither II — 6 seconds
- These effects apply to players and mobs alike, making the sword devastating in both PvE and PvP.
Crafting And Obtaining
Glitch Shard
Obtained as a guaranteed drop (1 per kill) from every Corrupted End Stalker. It cannot be crafted — you must hunt the Stalker to acquire it.
Glitch Shard Sword
Craft at a Crafting Table using one Glitch Shard, one Blaze Rod, and one Breeze Rod. The recipe is shapeless — ingredient placement does not matter.
Ingredients: Glitch Shard + Blaze Rod + Breeze Rod → Glitch Shard Sword
Drops
Every Corrupted End Stalker killed drops the following:
| Drop | Amount | Condition |
|---|
| Glitch Shard | 1 | Always |
| Ender Pearl | 0–2 (+ Looting) | Always |
| Rotten Flesh | 1–3 (+ Looting) | Always |
| End Stone | 1–3 (+ Looting) | 40% chance (Looting increases odds) |
| Glowstone Dust | 1–4 (+ Looting) | 35% chance (Looting increases odds) |
| Bottle o' Enchanting | 1–2 | 15% chance, player kill only |
| Nether Star | 1 | ~3% chance, player kill only (Looting increases odds slightly) |
Killing a Stalker yourself awards 12 XP. The Nether Star is an ultra-rare trophy drop worth pushing your luck for — bring Looting to improve the odds.
Spawning
The Corrupted End Stalker spawns on Normal and Hard difficulty only. It will never appear on Easy or Peaceful.
| Location | Spawn Condition | Group Size |
|---|
| Surface (any monster biome) | Light level 0–4, night/bad weather | 1–2 |
| Underground (non-Nether) | Light level 0–4 | 1–2 |
| The End (surface) | Any light level | 2–3 |
| The End (underground, Hard only) | Dark areas | 1 |
The End is the most reliable hunting ground, with the highest spawn weight and larger group sizes. Underground overworld caves are the most common encounter for early-game players.
You can also use the Corrupted End Stalker Spawn Egg to summon one directly.
Progression And Strategy
Before the fight:
- Gear up with at least Diamond armor — the Stalker hits hard (10 damage) and has enormous health.
- Smite V on your weapon is highly effective since the Stalker counts as undead.
- Bring a bucket of water. If the fight goes badly, splashing water nearby will continuously damage it and may force it to teleport away, buying you time.
- Avoid looking directly at it until you are ready to engage — eye contact triggers an immediate charge.
During the fight:
- The Stalker teleports frequently; keep your camera moving and listen for its movements.
- Its partial knockback resistance means you cannot reliably kite it — commit to the fight.
- Use ranged weapons to chip away health between teleports.
After the fight:
- Collect the guaranteed Glitch Shard.
- Farm Looting III to increase your chances at End Stone, Glowstone Dust, Bottles o' Enchanting, and the rare Nether Star.
Using the Glitch Shard Sword:
- The Wither II effect deals ongoing true damage while Slowness III prevents targets from escaping — an extremely powerful combo against bosses and other players.
- The sword's 2031 durability makes it a long-lasting weapon for the effort required to craft it.
- The on-hit effects stack well with high-speed attack builds, rapidly refreshing the debuffs on your target.
