Quickstart

1. Craft a block of Chainburst TNT using the recipe below.
2. Place it in the world like normal TNT.
3. Light it with flint and steel, or trigger it with a redstone signal.
4. Take cover — one lit block sets off four separate chains of explosions that race outward in different directions.

Overview

Chainburst TNT looks and behaves like a normal TNT block on the surface, but igniting it kicks off a much bigger chain reaction. Instead of a single blast, the initial explosion spawns four new sticks of primed TNT that fly outward in four different directions. Each of those can spawn another down the same line, continuing the chain until it has gone eight explosions deep in that direction.

Crafting And Obtaining

Chainburst TNT is crafted using gunpowder, regular TNT, and a redstone block:

Once crafted, it can be placed, stacked, and carried just like vanilla TNT.

How To Use

• Place it anywhere you'd place normal TNT.
• Ignite it with flint and steel, fire, another explosion, or a lit arrow.
• Redstone trigger: giving the block a redstone signal (or placing it in an already-powered location) will ignite and remove it automatically, just like vanilla redstone-activated TNT.
• Mining it: breaking the block by hand (outside of Creative Mode) also ignites it rather than simply dropping it.
• Once lit, the TNT behaves like normal primed TNT for a moment — it flashes, can be pushed around, and falls with gravity — before detonating.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Four-way chain reaction: When the original Chainburst TNT explodes, it launches four new explosive charges outward — one in each cardinal direction (left, right, forward, and back along the map's axes).
• Chain depth: Each of the four directional chains can continue for up to eight explosions in a row before that line of the chain stops. The four directions are independent, so all four lines can run simultaneously, each going up to eight steps deep.
• Spacing and momentum: Each chained explosion appears a short distance farther along its direction from the last one, hopping outward with a bit of upward momentum before detonating again a moment later.
• Explosion strength: Each blast in the chain has a solid area-of-effect radius, similar to a decent-sized TNT explosion, and can break blocks and damage entities caught nearby.
• Distinct sound: Each explosion in the chain plays a custom "chainburst" explosion sound, separate from the normal TNT primed/explosion sounds, so you can hear the chain rippling outward.

Progression And Strategy

• Because the four chains all fire from a single ignition point and each can go eight steps deep, a single block of Chainburst TNT can clear a very large area in a straight cross pattern — plan demolition or mining projects with that shape in mind.
• Since the chain travels along cardinal directions, placing the block in open areas (rather than tight corridors) lets all four chains run without unexpectedly stopping short due to terrain.
• Stand well back after ignition — the chain reaction takes a few moments to fully play out, with more explosions continuing to trigger well after the initial blast.
• Use it for large-scale terraforming, quarry clearing, or spectacle builds where a single spark needs to create a dramatic, expanding explosion show.
