Description:
⚠️ Warning: Never sleep in a bed inside a Plains village church. It may be a Lethal Bed — sleeping in it causes instant, permanent death that bypasses all protections, including the King's Garb.
Carcosa Yellow King transforms a normal Minecraft world into a slow-burning cosmic horror campaign. Starting in the overworld, players investigate unsettling landmarks near villages, confront a lurking supernatural entity called The Watcher, and ultimately breach a portal into Carcosa — a dying dimension of twin suns, black stars, and ruined Victorian architecture — to battle the ancient horror Hastur, The King in Yellow and claim legendary gear.
| Entity | Where Found | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| The Watcher | Overworld, near villages and Ruined Churches | Stalks from a distance, peeks around corners, instantly hides when looked at; 30% chance to jumpscare — snapping one block in front of you for 0.7 seconds with a loud sting before vanishing |
| Hastur, The King in Yellow | Grand Church in Carcosa (one-time boss) | Teleports constantly, fires Mental Power Balls (inflicts Nausea and Blindness); stunned for 5 seconds when you drop an item near him |
| Item | Source |

Ruined Churches generate near vanilla villages. The interior floods your screen with a sickly yellow overlay and applies Nausea — push through to find the crypt below. Inside the crypt you will find The Yellow Book. You can also craft it if you have the materials.
Place a Carcosa Portal Frame block, then right-click it while holding The Yellow Book. The portal activates and transports you to Carcosa.
The Watcher is a tall figure in a pristine yellow coat with a blood-stained hem, a wide hat, and a void-black face. It stalks you silently:
A single Lethal Bed can appear inside a Plains village church. It looks like a normal bed. Sleeping in it kills you instantly and permanently — it bypasses all respawn points and even the King's Garb death protection. Never sleep in a bed found inside a village church.
Carcosa is a fog-heavy dimension with twin suns, black stars overhead, dead yellow forests of Carcosa trees, and crumbling Victorian ruins. The Grand Church dominates the landscape — inside is where Hastur spawns.
Hastur teleports rapidly and launches Mental Power Balls that inflict Nausea and Blindness. Standard attacks alone will not keep up with his teleportation.

Torn Yellow Fabric is obtained exclusively by defeating Hastur. It is the core ingredient for all four pieces of the King's Garb.
Carcosa Saplings drop from Yellow Leaves with an ~18% chance. Grow them to farm Carcosa Logs outside of the dimension.
Wearing all four pieces (Hood, Mantle, Leggings, Boots) simultaneously grants:
| Bonus | Details |
|---|---|
| Teleport to crosshair | Press H or Mouse 4 to instantly teleport to wherever you are looking |
| Yellow Madness cure | Suppresses the nausea and yellow-screen effect from the Ruined Church interior |
| Permanent Night Vision | Always active while the full set is worn |
| Permanent Regeneration | Always active while the full set is worn |
| Permanent Resistance | Always active while the full set is worn |
| Totem-like death protection | Prevents a killing blow; armor durability is consumed instead of your life |
The death protection from the King's Garb does not protect against the Lethal Bed. The Lethal Bed's kill is absolute.
The Cursed Quill is a craftable item obtained from common materials. Its in-world use is tied to Carcosa lore and interactions — keep it in your inventory during your investigation.
The Carcosa Compass is a navigation tool crafted from gold and a vanilla compass. Use it to orient yourself in Carcosa's disorienting landscape.
