Ashen Kings Wasteland adds a full custom Bedrock biome called the Ashen Wasteland — a dark, scorched overworld region of lava spews, massive craters, charred walls and ruined terrain built from Ashen Soil, blackstone, deepslate and basalt; you can locate it with /locate biome com_ashen_kings_wasteland_wotuvke5:ashen_wasteland. This is a late‑game, high‑risk/high‑reward zone where hostile mobs spawn heavily armored (netherite gear and strong enchantment‑like effects), volcanic vents and biome‑gated ruins dot the landscape, and you can explore a chance‑spawned ruined castle full of jewels, armor, food, and weapons. Deep in the ruins you may face the Ashen King — a durable, fire‑immune boss who summons armed zombie/skeleton/husk guards and, after they fall, draws a powerful golden charge attack; defeating him rewards you with the unique King's Sword, a custom high‑tier weapon.

Quickstart
- Install the
.mcaddonand apply both the behavior pack and resource pack to your world. - Locate the biome with the command:
/locate biome com_ashen_kings_wasteland_wotuvke5:ashen_wasteland - Travel there — bring your best gear. This is a late-game zone.
- Explore the terrain for a ruined castle structure. Inside you'll find loot chests with jewels, armor, food, and weapons.
- Find and fight The Ashen King inside the ruins. Defeat him to claim The King's Sword.
Overview
The Ashen Wasteland is a custom overworld biome that carves a scorched, volcanic scar into your world. Lava vents bubble across blackened ground, massive craters pit the landscape, and charred walls of blackstone, deepslate, and basalt rise from beds of Ashen Soil. Normal hostile mobs here are outfitted with full netherite armor and powerful effects, making even a casual stroll genuinely dangerous. The biome's centrepiece is a large ruined castle that spawns by chance, housing treasure and the fearsome Ashen King boss.

Finding the Biome
Use the command below to pinpoint the nearest Ashen Wasteland:
/locate biome com_ashen_kings_wasteland_wotuvke5:ashen_wasteland
The biome generates in the overworld and can appear at any distance from spawn.
Navigating the Wasteland
- The ground is built from Ashen Soil, blackstone, deepslate, and basalt.
- Lava vents and craters are scattered throughout — watch your footing.
- All zombies, skeletons, and husks that spawn here are automatically outfitted in full netherite armor and carry netherite swords (or bows for skeletons). About 75% of them also receive Strength II and Resistance I, making them significantly tougher than their normal counterparts.
The Ruined Castle
A massive ruined castle can generate within the biome. It spans multiple floors and contains chests filled with jewels, armor, food, and weapons. The Ashen King may be lurking inside.
Abilities And Mechanics
Armored Wasteland Mobs
Every zombie, skeleton, and husk that spawns within range of a player in the Ashen Wasteland is upgraded on spawn:
- Full netherite armor on all slots
- Netherite sword (zombies/husks) or bow (skeletons)
- 75% chance of Strength II and Resistance I for the duration of their life
The Ashen King
The Ashen King is a humanoid boss with 220 health, 10 base melee damage, and complete fire immunity. He spawns naturally in the Ashen Wasteland at low light levels (0–7) on any difficulty.
Phase 1 — Guard Summon: The first time the Ashen King takes damage, he becomes temporarily slowed and summons 6 guards — a mix of zombies, skeletons, and husks — all of which are automatically armed in full netherite gear.
Phase 2 — Golden Charge: Once all guards have been defeated, the King equips a golden sword, gains a significant speed boost, and enters a fast, aggressive charge state. This is his most dangerous phase.
Loot: Killing the Ashen King as a player (or with pets) guarantees a drop of The King's Sword, plus a chance for rotten flesh.
Progression And Strategy
Come prepared. The Ashen Wasteland is a late-game destination. Recommended minimum gear before entering:
- Full diamond or netherite armor with high-level enchantments
- Potions of Fire Resistance (lava vents are everywhere)
- Potions of Strength or Regeneration for the King fight
- A strong ranged option for dealing with netherite-armored skeletons at distance
Fighting the Ashen King:
- Clear the area around the King's location before engaging — you don't want to fight guards and armored wasteland mobs at the same time.
- When he summons guards, focus them down quickly. Use area damage if available.
- When Phase 2 begins (the golden sword), use hit-and-run tactics. His speed boost makes sustained close combat risky.
- Fire-based weapons and lava have no effect — bring physical damage.
The King's Sword is worth the effort: it deals 9 damage, has 1280 durability, and can be enchanted in the sword slot with an enchantability of 22 — on par with gold's enchantability, making it excellent for high-level enchantments.
Ashen Soil
Ashen Soil is the primary ground block of the Ashen Wasteland. It resembles scorched, near-black earth and drops itself when mined with any tool. It can be collected and used as a decorative building block.
