Aegis Forcefield

Quickstart

1. Gather 8 diamonds, 4 ender eyes, and 1 obsidian.
2. Craft the Aegis Forcefield at a crafting table:

1. Place the Aegis Forcefield in any slot of your hotbar.
2. Keep it in the hotbar while exploring or fighting. The forcefield activates automatically and surrounds you with portal-like particles.
3. Test it against incoming projectiles or enemy attacks. The barrier absorbs up to 100 damage before its protection is depleted.

Overview

Aegis Forcefield is a protective item that creates a barrier around the player carrying it. While the item is in the hotbar, it:

• Absorbs up to 100 points of damage.
• Intercepts several types of incoming projectiles.
• Displays a visible particle ring around the player.
• Protects against all listed damage causes, including environmental and combat damage.

The barrier is personal and follows the player rather than being placed in the world.

How To Use

Activating the Barrier

Keep the Aegis Forcefield in one of the nine hotbar slots. The barrier activates automatically; no button press or use action is required.

The item does not need to be selected. It only needs to remain somewhere in the hotbar.

Deactivating the Barrier

Move the item out of the hotbar or place it in another inventory slot. The barrier disappears and its active protection state is cleared.

Putting it back in the hotbar starts a fresh barrier with up to 100 damage capacity.

Visual Indicator

When active, portal-like particles appear in rings around your body. These particles show that the forcefield is operating and also flash when a supported projectile is intercepted.

Abilities And Mechanics

Damage Absorption

The active barrier has a total capacity of 100 damage. Damage is absorbed as it is dealt, restoring the equivalent amount of health so that the barrier takes the hit instead.

When an attack exceeds the barrier's remaining capacity, the barrier absorbs only what it has left. Any remaining damage can then affect your health normally.

The barrier can absorb damage from all damage causes recognized by the item, not just attacks from mobs.

Projectile Protection

The forcefield checks for supported projectiles near the player and removes them before they can reach the protected space. It can intercept:

• Arrows
• Dragon fireballs
• Eggs
• Ender pearls
• Experience bottles
• Fireballs
• Llama spit
• Shulker bullets
• Small fireballs
• Snowballs
• Tridents
• Wither skulls
• Wind charges

An interception produces a brief particle flash at the projectile's position.

Item Details

The Aegis Forcefield is categorized as equipment and can be worn in the head armor slot. For its protective barrier to activate, however, keep it in your hotbar.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the item in a crafting table using diamonds, ender eyes, and obsidian:

The recipe unlocks when you have obtained a diamond. In Creative mode, find the item in the equipment category or use its command identifier:

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the forcefield before exploring dangerous areas or fighting projectile-using enemies.
• Keep it in the hotbar instead of storing it in your main inventory.
• Use the particle rings to confirm that protection is active.
• Watch for the barrier's 100-damage limit during prolonged fights.
• Remove and replace the item in the hotbar when you want to begin with a fresh barrier capacity.
• Combine the forcefield with armor and other defenses for protection after the barrier is depleted.
