Description
A Addon That Adds 3 New Zombie Mobs.
Mod Wiki
Zombie Pig
Quickstart
- Open your inventory's Spawn Egg items to find three new undead mobs: Zombie Pig, Zombie Chicken, and Zombie Sniffer.
- Use a spawn egg on any block to summon the creature, or find them spawning naturally at night in dark areas (light level 7 or below) across Overworld and monster biomes.
- These mobs behave like other zombies: they burn in sunlight, target and attack players and villagers, and can break down wooden doors.
- Fight them for loot, or just watch them stalk and hunt through the dark.
Overview
Zombie Pig turns three familiar Minecraft creatures — the pig, the chicken, and the sniffer — into shambling undead monsters. Each one has the look and sounds of its original animal, but now hungers for the player and other prey instead of peacefully wandering around. They spawn in groups at night or underground in dim light, adding new undead threats to explore and fight.
What It Adds
| Mob | Description |
|---|
| Zombie Pig | An undead pig that hunts players and villagers. Occasionally spawns as a baby that grows into an adult over time. If struck by lightning, it transforms into a Zombified Piglin. |
| Zombie Chicken | An undead chicken that can pick up and wield weapons/armor it finds, break doors, and even summon a mount to ride. If it stays underwater too long, it can transform into a Drowned. |
| Zombie Sniffer | A large, tough undead sniffer that hunts players, villagers, and iron golems. It has high health and a long attack reach. |
All three are spawn-egg summonable and appear naturally in the world without needing to be spawned manually.
How To Use
- Spawning naturally: All three mobs appear at night or in dark, low-light areas (brightness level 7 or lower), typically in small groups (herds of 2–4 for pigs and chickens, 1–2 for sniffers). They favor Overworld and other "monster"-tagged biomes and avoid peaceful biomes.
- Spawning manually: Use the matching Spawn Egg item on a block to place the mob directly.
- Combat: Each mob attacks on sight when it spots a player, villager, or (for the Sniffer) an iron golem within its detection range. They will chase, melee attack, and in the case of the Zombie Chicken and Zombie Sniffer, break down doors to reach you.
- Environmental hazards: All three burn in daylight and take damage while standing in lava, just like other undead mobs — use this to your advantage when fighting them in the open.
- Naming: All three can be named with a name tag like most mobs.
Crafting And Obtaining
There are no crafting recipes for these mobs — they are obtained only through their spawn eggs or by encountering them in the world. No recipe shortcodes are available for this mod.
Abilities And Mechanics
-
Zombie Pig:
- Attacks players and villagers within 32 blocks, dealing 3–5 damage per hit.
- Small chance to spawn as a baby, which grows up over time.
- Struck by lightning outside of Peaceful difficulty, it transforms into a Zombified Piglin.
- Drops porkchop (cooked if killed while on fire), rotten flesh, and rarely iron ingot, carrot, or potato when killed by a player.
-
Zombie Chicken:
- Attacks with 2–4 damage, can break wooden doors, and swims/walks amphibiously.
- Can equip weapons and armor it finds or loots, prioritizing swords and better gear.
- Can summon and ride another zombie chicken as a mount (a "jockey" behavior).
- Turns into a Drowned if left underwater for too long.
- Drops feathers, and rarely rotten flesh, iron ingot, or carrot.
-
Zombie Sniffer:
- Large and tanky, with 40 health and 4–7 attack damage.
- Detects and attacks players, villagers, and iron golems from up to 35 blocks away, and can break down doors to reach them.
- Retains classic sniffer animations like sniffing and digging, though it now stalks prey instead of foraging peacefully.
- Drops rotten flesh, and rarely an iron ingot.
Progression And Strategy
These undead mobs are best approached like other zombie-type enemies: fight them at range or use fire and sunlight to your advantage, and be cautious of groups spawning together at night. The Zombie Sniffer is the toughest of the three thanks to its high health and damage, so prepare good gear before engaging one. The Zombie Chicken's ability to steal and wear weapons/armor makes it a mobile threat worth disarming quickly, and any zombie chicken caught underwater will eventually turn into a Drowned if not dealt with. Keep an eye out at night or in dark caverns, where all three mobs are most likely to appear in small hunting groups.
