Description:
Adds a craftable, placeable XP Tank block that you can right-click to open a GUI and deposit any number of XP bottles (type a number or use all/max to consume your inventory). When you stand inside the tank its stored XP is released all at once—items with Mending are repaired first and any leftover XP is granted to the player—and the block has pass-through collision and a glowing XP-themed look so you can stand inside it comfortably. Each tank’s XP is saved per-block across reloads, gives sound and action-bar feedback when used, and drops/cleans up its storage when broken, making it a convenient XP bank for bulk repairs and experience management.
Mod Wiki
Xp Tank
Quickstart
- Craft an XP Tank at a crafting table using the recipe below.
- Place the XP Tank anywhere in your world.
- Right-click (interact) the tank to open the deposit GUI.
- Enter how many XP bottles to deposit — type a number,
all, or max — then press Deposit.
- Once XP is stored, walk into the tank (it has no collision) to instantly drain all stored XP: Mending gear is repaired first, then any remaining XP is added to your levels.
Overview
The XP Tank is a single block that acts as a bank for experience. Toss in stacks of Bottles o' Enchanting, walk away, and come back later to absorb everything at once. It is especially useful for batch-repairing Mending equipment without wasting a single point of experience.
What It Adds
| Block | Description |
|---|
| XP Tank | A placeable, glowing block that stores XP from bottles and releases it when you stand inside. |
How To Use
Depositing XP
Right-click the placed XP Tank to open the deposit form. The form shows:
- How much XP is currently stored (and the equivalent bottle count).
- How many XP bottles are in your inventory.
Type a number of bottles to deposit, or enter all / max to deposit every bottle in your inventory. Hit Deposit to confirm. Each bottle contributes 7 XP to the tank's storage.
Draining XP
Simply walk into (stand inside) the XP Tank. Because the block has pass-through collision, you can step right into it. The moment you are inside, all stored XP is released at once:
- Any equipped or carried items with the Mending enchantment are repaired first, consuming XP proportionally.
- All leftover XP is granted directly to your experience bar.
The action bar and a chat message confirm how much XP was released.
Feedback
- Sounds play on both deposit and drain.
- The action bar shows XP gained.
- Chat messages confirm deposit amounts or report errors (no bottles found, nothing deposited, etc.).
Crafting And Obtaining
The recipe is unlocked automatically once you pick up an Emerald or a Bottle o' Enchanting.
Abilities And Mechanics
| Property | Detail |
|---|
| Collision | None — you walk straight through it. |
| Selection box | Normal block size, so you can still target and interact with it. |
| Light emission | Level 8 — softly glows like XP orbs. |
| Mining time | ~3 seconds by hand; faster with a pickaxe. |
| Explosion resistance | 12 — reasonably blast-resistant. |
| XP per bottle | 7 XP stored per Bottle o' Enchanting. |
| Persistent storage | XP is saved per-block location and survives world reloads. |
| On break | Stored XP data is cleared; no XP drops from the block itself. |
Progression And Strategy
- Bulk Mending repairs: Fill a tank with hundreds of bottles, gear up your best Mending equipment, then step in once to repair everything simultaneously.
- XP buffer: Mine or grind XP bottles over time and bank them. Drain the tank only when you need a big level boost for expensive enchantments.
- Multiple tanks: Each tank tracks its own XP independently, so you can dedicate separate tanks to different purposes (e.g., one for armor repairs, one for leveling up).
- Safe placement: Place the tank at floor level so walking into it is effortless. The glow makes it easy to spot in a dimly lit storage room.
