Wool Seat

Quickstart

1. Collect some white wool from sheep.
2. Open a crafting table and craft Wool Seats:

1. Place a Wool Seat on the ground like any other block — it sits at half-block (slab) height.
2. Left-click (attack) the Wool Seat to sit down. A message will appear on your screen confirming you're seated.
3. Press Jump or Sneak to stand up.
4. To break the block, sneak and then left-click it.

Overview

Wool Seat adds a single decorative block — the Wool Seat — that functions as a placeable, sittable piece of furniture. It looks like a white wool slab and fits naturally into cozy builds, living rooms, waiting areas, or any space that needs seating. Players can sit on it at a realistic slab height, making it ideal for benches, chairs, and sofas.

How To Use

Sitting Down

Left-click (attack) any placed Wool Seat while not sneaking. Your character will mount the seat at slab height. An action bar message confirms you are seated:

Sitting on the Wool Seat. Jump or sneak to stand up.

Only one player can occupy a seat at a time. If a seat is already occupied, the previous mount is cleared when someone new sits down.

Standing Up

While seated, press Jump or Sneak to dismount and stand up normally.

Breaking the Block

To pick up a Wool Seat, hold Sneak and left-click it. Sneaking prevents the sit action and allows the block to be broken normally. An axe breaks it fastest. The block drops itself when broken.

⚠️ Left-clicking without sneaking will always try to sit you down, not break the block. Remember to sneak first when you want to remove a seat.

Crafting And Obtaining

Wool Seats are crafted at a crafting table using white wool. The recipe unlocks automatically when you pick up white wool.

Each craft yields 2 Wool Seats.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Half-height collision box — the Wool Seat occupies the bottom half of a block space, just like a slab.
• Invisible mount — sitting is handled by an invisible, harmless entity that spawns on the seat. It cannot be damaged or pushed, and it disappears automatically when you stand up or the seat is broken.
• Auto-timeout — if you remain seated without moving, the mount will automatically release you after 5 minutes (300 seconds).
• Break cleanup — breaking a Wool Seat automatically removes any invisible mount on it, so no ghost entities are left behind.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft a batch early on — 3 white wool yields 2 seats, so a small wool farm goes a long way.
• Pair Wool Seats with slabs, stairs, and carpets to build fully furnished rooms.
• Line them up side-by-side to create benches or sofas in community builds or roleplay servers.
• Because the seat is half-height, placing items or blocks on top of it still works visually, letting you add armrests or side tables with trapdoors and item frames.
