No escape: The Stalker

Description

A creepy monster lurks around your world. Most of the time he watches, he observes, and leaves if you get too close. One day however, he won’t run away, he will let you get close, he will let you observe, he will let you test, he will let you punch him, and once you do, you die. He can break through walls and blocks, and he won’t stop until you die. Killing him sometimes drops Stalker Hearts. You can use these hearts to craft a new custom stalker spear. You can also craft a demon shrine. Placing it down, you can sacrifice stalker hearts to it in exchange for the stalker’s disappearance for a certain amount of time.

Mod Wiki

White Eyed Stalker

Quickstart

  • Look for the Stalker in dark areas underground or on the surface. It can spawn on Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty, alone.
  • To try it on demand, use its spawn egg in Creative mode, or summon it with /summon com_white_eyed_stalker_47utsapf:myenderman.
  • The Stalker may watch from a distance and vanish if it gets within five blocks while in its stalking state. Strike it to make it aggressive and start a fight.
  • A player kill has a chance to drop a Stalker Heart. Craft the Stalkerheart Maul-Spear at a crafting table, then use it to lunge in the direction you’re looking. Try hitting a target while descending for extra damage.
  • Craft and place a Demon Shrine. Hold a Stalker Heart and interact with the shrine to consume it and ward off new Stalkers for 10 minutes.

Overview

The White Eyed Stalker is a solitary, Enderman-like hostile mob. It may watch players from up to 64 blocks away; attacking it turns its attention into a pursuit. Be ready to fight or retreat: it can follow players without needing a clear line of sight and can break through some blocks.

What It Adds

ContentUse
White Eyed StalkerA hostile mob that watches from afar, then attacks when provoked.
Stalker HeartA rare player-kill drop used to make the Maul-Spear and power the Demon Shrine.
Stalkerheart Maul-SpearA durable weapon with a directional lunge and a falling-hit damage bonus.
Demon ShrineA placeable block that consumes Stalker Hearts to ward off new Stalkers.

How To Use

Find or spawn the Stalker

The Stalker spawns in low light on the surface or underground, in groups of one. Its stalking state watches players from a distance and vanishes when a player comes within five blocks. Hitting it makes it aggressive instead, so strike it before closing in if you want to prevent that close-range escape.

You can also use its spawn egg in Creative mode or the summon command in Quickstart.

Fight the Stalker

The Stalker has 40 health and deals 7 damage per attack. Once angered, it pursues players within 64 blocks and does not need to see its target. It can break dirt, grass blocks, stone, cobblestone, oak, spruce and birch planks, glass, and oak leaves, so walls made from those blocks may not keep it out.

Water and lava damage it. Use distance and sturdy terrain to manage the fight, but don’t count on a clear line of sight or a simple wooden barrier to stop its pursuit.

Use the Demon Shrine

Place the shrine, hold a Stalker Heart, then interact with the block. Each offering consumes one heart and wards off new Stalkers for 10 minutes. Offering another heart while the ward is active extends its remaining time by 10 minutes. The ward affects new arrivals; it does not remove a Stalker that is already present.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Demon Shrine and Stalkerheart Maul-Spear are made at a crafting table. The shrine is also available in Creative mode.

A player kill has a 10% chance to drop a Stalker Heart. A player-killed Stalker also has a 25% chance to drop an Ender Pearl; Looting can improve the pearl drop chance. Player kills award 5 experience.

Abilities And Mechanics

Stalkerheart Maul-Spear

The Maul-Spear deals 6 damage and has 2,031 durability. Use it to lunge in the direction you’re looking. The lunge requires at least 6 hunger points and has a one-second cooldown.

Hitting an enemy while falling at least 1.5 blocks adds bonus damage. The bonus increases with fall height, and a successful falling hit grants a brief Slow Falling effect to help prevent fall damage.

Demon Shrine ward

The shrine’s ward is shared across the world. Each heart offered adds 10 minutes to the ward, counting from the current expiry if it is already active.

Progression And Strategy

Start by spotting the Stalker and learning its behavior before approaching. If you want to fight, bring enough food and equipment to handle its health and heavy hits. A Maul-Spear lunge can help close distance or reposition; for a stronger strike, use height and hit a target on the way down. Save Stalker Hearts for the weapon or shrine depending on whether you want an edge in combat or a temporary respite from new Stalkers.
