Warlock Golem Strongholds

Quickstart

• In Survival, explore the Overworld for Warlock camps. Warlocks can also appear naturally across the Overworld.
• Defeat the camp guards and open its cache. It contains a Fortress Survey Map and 1–2 Lesser Golem Spawn Eggs, along with a few possible supplies.
• Use the map to display the nearest known fortress’s coordinates and approximate distance. If none is known, the map attempts to locate a suitable nearby forest and queue a fortress there.
• Prepare well before visiting a fortress: it has a much larger guard force and a boss encounter.
• In Creative, find the camp and fortress deployers under Tools. Use one on a block face to queue its structure just beyond that face; choose open ground, since the build places blocks into the area.

Overview

The mod turns Overworld exploration into a series of fights against hostile Warlocks and their golems. Camps can appear throughout the Overworld; larger fortresses generate in taiga, old-growth pine taiga, old-growth spruce taiga, and dark forest biomes.

Warlocks are hostile spellcasters. Golems are powerful close-range threats. Both can target players and other hostile creatures, but the mod’s Warlocks and golems do not target one another.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Fortress Survey Map: Right-click to show coordinates and an approximate distance. Using it does not consume the map. If it cannot find a suitable forest nearby, travel toward a spruce taiga or dark forest and try again.
• Golem Spawn Eggs: Use an egg on a block to spawn that golem.
• Structure deployers: In Creative, use a deployer on a block face. The structure is queued at the adjacent position and may take a little time to finish placing.

Crafting And Obtaining

The special items are found in structure caches rather than crafted; no crafting recipes are available.

• Camp cache: Always contains a Fortress Survey Map and 1–2 Lesser Golem Spawn Eggs. It can also contain iron ingots, bread, or an iron sword.
• Fortress cache: Always contains a diamond sword, diamond chestplate, Spirit Totem, and Greater Golem Spawn Egg. It can also contain diamonds, a diamond helmet, an enchanted golden apple, golden carrots, or an enchanted book.
• Creative inventory: The golem eggs are under Spawn Eggs; the map, totem, and deployers are under Tools.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Spirit Totem is an automatic, one-use safeguard. Carry it in your inventory or either hand: when a hit would kill you, the totem prevents your death and releases ten guardian spirits. They attack the living attacker if there is one; otherwise, they seek nearby hostiles or an opposing player. The spirits last about 45 seconds. The totem is consumed when it activates outside Creative mode.

Progression And Strategy

A camp is guarded by two Warlocks and two Lesser Golems. Use its supplies and map to prepare for the fortress, which is guarded by five Warlocks, four Lesser Golems, and either The Veil-Crowned Warlock or The Obsidian Colossus. Bring strong equipment and healing, and avoid letting the golems close the distance while you deal with the spellcasters.
