Overview
Voidrender adds a single legendary weapon — the Voidrender sword — described in its tooltip as "A blade forged from the space between dimensions." It is a prestige endgame item that demands extremely rare and plentiful materials, rewarding skilled players with powerful void-based combat mechanics.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|
| Voidrender | A legendary netherite-tier sword with void-themed hit effects and a combo explosion mechanic. Found in the Combat creative tab. |
How To Use
Wield the Voidrender like any sword. Its unique mechanics activate automatically on each hit:
- Darkness on hit — Every enemy you strike is inflicted with Darkness for 10 seconds. This effect has a 30-second cooldown per individual target, so you cannot spam-blind the same enemy; you must wait before Darkness can be reapplied to them.
- Void Explosion (5-hit combo) — Each consecutive hit on the same target builds a hidden counter. On the 5th consecutive hit, a Void Explosion detonates:
- A dramatic burst of swirling portal, end rod, and reverse-portal particles erupts around the target.
- An explosion sound plays.
- The target takes 10 points of magic damage that bypasses armor.
- The counter resets to zero and the cycle can begin again.
- Switching targets resets the combo — If you hit a different enemy before reaching 5 hits, the consecutive-hit counter starts over from 1 on the new target.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Voidrender requires a 3×3 shaped recipe with exact stack counts in specific slots. Placing fewer items than required will prevent the result from appearing.
| Slot | Item | Required Count |
|---|
| Top-left & Top-right | Dragon Egg | 1 each |
| Top-center | Nether Star | 8 |
| Middle-left & Middle-right | End Crystal | 64 each |
| Middle-center | Netherite Sword | 1 |
| Bottom-left & Bottom-right | Dragon Head | 4 each |
| Bottom-center | Elytra | 1 |
All ingredients are fully consumed when you pick up the finished sword. Because this recipe demands two full stacks of End Crystals and multiple Dragon Heads, obtaining the Voidrender is a significant late-game achievement.
Abilities And Mechanics
Base Stats
- Attack Damage: 6 (netherite-tier)
- Attack Speed: Standard sword speed
- Stack Size: 1 (unique item)
Darkness
Darkness blinds the target, severely reducing their vision radius. The 30-second cooldown applies per-target, not globally — you can blind multiple different enemies in quick succession but cannot re-blind the same enemy until the cooldown expires.
Void Explosion
The explosion deals 10 magic damage that completely ignores the target's armor value. This makes it exceptionally powerful against heavily armored foes. Every particle effect and sound plays at the target's location, making the combo visually dramatic and audible to nearby players.
Progression And Strategy
- Build toward the combo. Focus all attacks on a single enemy to reach 5 hits as quickly as possible. The 10 armor-bypassing magic damage makes the Void Explosion especially effective against armored bosses or players in full netherite.
- Manage Darkness carefully. The 10-second Darkness window is your opportunity to capitalize on a blinded target. Time your 5-hit combo to land the explosion while the target is still affected.
- Don't swap targets mid-fight unless necessary — every target switch wastes combo progress. If fighting multiple enemies, try to focus one down before moving to the next.
- The recipe is an endgame milestone. Farming 128 End Crystals, 8 Nether Stars, multiple Dragon Eggs and Dragon Heads, plus an Elytra makes the Voidrender one of the most resource-intensive items in the game. Treat crafting it as a major server achievement.
