Quickstart

1. Gather vines, leather, iron ingots, and purple dye.
2. Craft all four armor pieces at a crafting table using the recipes below.
3. Equip all four pieces — helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.
4. You now have Resistance II passively active and any mob that hits you gets blasted with Wither II.

Overview

Vineguard Vintner Armor is a rare, Italian-inspired armor set stained deep red with wine and laced with thorny vines. It glints with an enchantment sheen straight out of the box and rewards players who wear the complete set with powerful defensive magic — constant damage resistance and a thorny retaliation against anyone bold enough to strike you.

Abilities And Mechanics

Full-Set Bonus — Resistance II

Wearing all four Vineguard Vintner pieces at the same time grants you a continuous Resistance II effect. The buff refreshes automatically every two seconds, so it never lapses as long as the full set is equipped. This dramatically reduces incoming damage from all sources.

Thorny Vines — Wither II Retaliation

Any entity that deals melee or direct damage to you while you are wearing at least one Vineguard Vintner piece will immediately receive Wither II for 3 seconds. This effect triggers on the attacker regardless of whether you are wearing the full set, so even a single piece keeps your enemies corroding. The Wither particles are visible, making it clear to nearby players that the attacker has been cursed.

Crafting And Obtaining

All pieces are crafted at a crafting table. The recipe unlock hints are: collect leather, vine, and a glass bottle for the lower-body pieces; vine and iron ingots for the helmet; and vine with purple dye for the leggings.

Progression And Strategy

• Early-to-mid game: Vines are renewable and leather is easy to farm, making this set accessible without deep mining. Grab iron for the helmet and purple dye (craft from blue + red dye) to complete your set quickly.
• Repairing: All four pieces can be repaired at an anvil using iron ingots or vines, keeping your investment intact over time.
• Enchanting: Every piece supports armor enchantments (enchantability 12, on par with iron armor), so adding Protection, Unbreaking, or Thorns further amplifies their defensive potential.
• Combat tip: The Wither retaliation triggers from any piece, but equipping the full set stacks Resistance II on top — together these two effects make you extremely hard to bring down while steadily draining attackers' health. Pair with regeneration food to become nearly unstoppable in drawn-out fights.
• Best used against: Groups of melee mobs. Every attacker that hits you in a crowd will be Withered simultaneously, turning a mob pile into a liability for the mobs themselves.
