Villager Empire

Quickstart

  1. Get a Become Leader item and use it to found your own empire. If you don't have one, ask an admin or find one in survival gameplay — using it instantly makes you the leader of a new empire.
  2. Craft a Gun using for personal defense and quick villager management.
  3. Get a Worker Broker and right-click another player to send them a Village Work Invitation, recruiting them into your workforce.
  4. Press V to open the Village Command Panel and manage nearby villagers — assign jobs, send them home, or upgrade them.
  5. Press B to open the Empire Menu for empire-wide management, alliances, and elections.
  6. Watch for pop-up parchment screens — they appear automatically when you receive a Work Invitation, an Alliance Request, or a Retirement confirmation prompt.

Overview

Villager Empire turns ordinary villages into player-run empires. As a leader, you recruit other players into your workforce, assign jobs to villagers, form alliances with other empires, and manage everything through in-game menus. Villagers gain experience, hold jobs, carry supplies, and can be commanded directly from a dedicated control panel.

What It Adds

ItemPurpose
Become LeaderFounds a new empire with you as its leader.
RetireRequests to step down as leader (requires confirmation).
Worker BrokerSends a Village Work Invitation to another player.
GunA ranged firearm dealing heavy damage at long range; will not harm allied players.

Two dedicated interfaces are also added:

  • Village Command Panel (default key V) — manage individual villagers near you.
  • Empire Menu (default key B) — manage your empire as a whole, including alliances and elections.

Pop-up parchment prompts appear automatically for:

  • Village Work Invitations
  • Empire Alliance Requests
  • Leadership Retirement confirmations

How To Use

Founding an Empire Use the Become Leader item. If you already lead an empire, you'll be told so instead of founding a duplicate one.

Recruiting Workers As a leader, right-click another player with the Worker Broker. They receive a Village Work Invitation prompt that they can accept or decline. A player already working for a leader cannot be invited again.

Managing Villagers Open the Village Command Panel (V) to see nearby villagers listed with their current level. Selecting a villager lets you:

  • Assign a job (Miner, Woodcutter, Builder, Army, Farmer, Fisherman, Carrier, Healer)
  • Remove a job
  • Command them to Follow, Go Home, or Stop
  • Upgrade their level
  • Dismiss them from service

Managing the Empire Open the Empire Menu (B) to review empire status, handle alliance requests, and participate in leadership elections.

Forming Alliances Alliance requests appear as a parchment prompt that can be accepted to link two empires together. Allied players cannot be harmed by each other's Guns.

Retiring Use the Retire item to request stepping down as leader. A confirmation prompt appears — confirming permanently relinquishes your leadership.

Using the Gun Right-click while holding the Gun to fire an instant, long-range shot. It deals heavy damage to non-allied living targets, knocks you back slightly, plays a firing sound, and briefly needs to cool down before firing again. Killing a villager with the Gun rewards a bonus emerald drop rather than the usual villager drops.

Crafting And Obtaining

  • Gun —
  • Become Leader, Retire, and Worker Broker are special empire-management tools; obtain them through normal survival play or from a creative inventory search.

Abilities And Mechanics

  • Villager Jobs & XP — Villagers assigned to jobs accumulate experience and levels over time, becoming more valuable workers.
  • Villager Ownership & Status — Each villager tracks which leader owns them and their current activity status (Idle, working, following, etc.).
  • Supplies — Working villagers can gather and hold supplies tied to their assigned job.
  • Alliances — Empires can ally with each other, granting Gun immunity between allied players and enabling cooperative play.
  • Command Tags & Invitations — Invitations (work, alliance, retirement) are delivered as prompts that must be actively accepted or confirmed by the receiving player.

Progression And Strategy

Start by founding your empire and recruiting a small workforce of players and villagers. Assign jobs strategically — Miners and Woodcutters for resources, Farmers and Fishermen for food, Carriers to move supplies, Healers to support your workforce, and Army villagers for defense. As villagers gain levels through their jobs, upgrade them via the Command Panel to increase their effectiveness. Form alliances with neighboring empires to secure safety from Gun violence and open opportunities for cooperation, and use elections and leadership management (including retiring gracefully) to keep your empire's leadership structure healthy over time.
