Vessel Of The Dark World

Quickstart

1. On your first spawn, check your inventory for a Create Vessel, Soul, Fountain Knife, and Recruit Sigil.
2. Use the Create Vessel and choose a build—Petite, Balanced, or Towering—then enter a name. Your player becomes a gray vessel.
3. Use the Fountain Knife and choose Enter Dark World to travel. Explore the generated landscape and watch for Darklings.
4. Use the Soul in the Dark World to return home. If you die there, you receive a Soul when you respawn.
5. To recruit help, look at a nearby villager and use the Recruit Sigil.

Overview

Vessel Of The Dark World turns you into a customizable gray vessel and opens a path to the Dark World, a separate dimension with distinct regions, building materials, hostile mobs, and a boss. The Soul and Fountain Knife provide ways to travel between it and the Overworld.

What It Adds

Dark World regions

Explore these landscapes as you travel:

• Field of Hopes and Dreams
• Red Forest
• The Great Board
• Cyber World and Cyber City
• Card Castle
• TV World
• Dark Sanctuary
• Garden of Hopes and Dreams

The regions use their own terrain blocks, including Heart Soil, Red Forest Bark, Great Board, Cyber Floor, Cyber City Alloy, Card Castle Marble, TV Static, Dark Sanctuary Stone, and Dream Garden Turf.

Creatures

• Darklings are hostile mobs found in the Dark World. They can attack and may drop rotten flesh.
• Heartless Regent is a powerful boss associated with The Great Board. It has a long-range sonic attack and can inflict darkness. Defeating it drops a Soul.

How To Use

Customize your vessel

Use the Create Vessel to open the customization form. Choose Petite, Balanced, or Towering and enter a name. Submitting the form applies the gray-vessel appearance and name.

Travel

• Use the Fountain Knife to open the travel menu. Choose Enter Dark World to go in or Return home to leave.
• Use the Soul in the Dark World to return to the Overworld spawn.
• Using the Soul in the Overworld opens the travel menu again. After returning home with the Soul, use it to reopen travel before trying to enter with the knife.

Recruit villagers

Look directly at a villager within six blocks and use the Recruit Sigil. Recruited villagers become Vessel Allies, follow you, and attack nearby hostile mobs. You can recruit up to four allies.

Crafting And Obtaining

The four main items are given on your first spawn: Create Vessel, Soul, Fountain Knife, and Recruit Sigil. Dying in the Dark World gives you a Soul when you respawn. The Darkling and Heartless Regent spawn eggs are available in Creative.

There are no crafting recipes for the mod’s items listed here. The Dark World’s distinctive terrain blocks can be found in their respective regions.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The vessel’s build choice changes your player’s size; the selected appearance is restored when you respawn.
• The Soul is your way to return home from the Dark World and reopen travel from the Overworld.
• A death in the Dark World seals ordinary knife access until you use the Soul to reopen travel.
• Darklings may drop rotten flesh. A rare drop can be an iron ingot, carrot, or potato.
• Vessel Allies help against nearby hostile mobs, but don’t rely on them to defeat the Heartless Regent.

Progression And Strategy

Customize your vessel, then use the Fountain Knife to enter the Dark World and explore its regions. Keep the Soul handy so you can return home or reopen travel when needed. Recruit villagers for support on the journey, and prepare carefully before challenging the Heartless Regent: its sonic attack reaches from a distance, while its close-range hits are especially dangerous.
