Underworld Flintshaper

Quickstart

1. Gather a Netherite Shovel, Flint, Soul Soil, and Crying Obsidian.
2. Combine them in a crafting table. The recipe is shapeless, so ingredient placement does not matter.

1. Equip the Underworld Flintshaper in your main hand or off-hand.
2. Mine Gravel to receive Flint directly.
3. Dig through Sand, Red Sand, and Dirt for a chance to uncover Soul Soil or Glowstone Dust.

The recipe is automatically available in the recipe book. In Creative Mode, the item can also be found in the Tools item group.

Overview

The Underworld Flintshaper is a Netherite-tier shovel with a dark-powered extraction perk. It improves Gravel harvesting and gives ordinary digging a chance to uncover Nether-related materials.

The shovel holds one item per inventory slot and can be used like a normal shovel.

• Underworld Flintshaper shovel
• Gravel refinement into Flint
• Buried-treasure drops from Sand, Red Sand, and Dirt
• Dragon-breath particles while the shovel is held

How To Use

Refine Gravel

Break Gravel while using the Underworld Flintshaper as your tool. The Gravel is replaced by a Flint drop instead of its normal Gravel drop.

This effect works automatically whenever the correct shovel is used; no special activation or key press is required.

Unearth Nether Treasures

Mine any of the following blocks with the Underworld Flintshaper:

• Sand
• Red Sand
• Dirt

Each block has a 5% chance to reveal one bonus item:

• Soul Soil
• Glowstone Dust

The bonus item is selected randomly. The effect is intended for survival digging, so it does not trigger for players in Creative Mode.

Visual Effect

When the Underworld Flintshaper is held in either hand, faint Dragon Breath particles appear around its blade. The particles are purely visual and do not require an additional action.

Craft the Underworld Flintshaper from:

• 1 Netherite Shovel
• 1 Flint
• 1 Soul Soil
• 1 Crying Obsidian

The recipe is shapeless and produces one Underworld Flintshaper:

Abilities And Mechanics

The Gravel effect only applies when the Underworld Flintshaper itself is the breaking tool. The treasure effect applies while a player in Survival-style play uses the shovel to mine the eligible blocks.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the shovel once you can obtain a Netherite Shovel, Soul Soil, and Crying Obsidian.
• Use it for large Gravel deposits when you need a reliable Flint supply.
• Bring it while clearing deserts, riverbanks, and dirt-heavy areas to search for bonus Soul Soil and Glowstone Dust.
• Keep the shovel in your main hand or off-hand when you want its particle effect visible.
