Quickstart

1. Craft a Soul Core at a crafting table.

1. Craft and place a Soulfall Altar.

1. Put a Soul Core in your selected hotbar slot, then interact with the altar. One Soul Core is consumed and The Forgotten God appears above the altar.

2. Fight the boss. Damaging The Forgotten God grants Soul XP. At half health, it enters Glitch Phase, becoming faster and stronger.

3. Defeat the boss to obtain a Determination Soul, Soul Cores, and other possible rewards.

4. Craft a Soul Codex and use it to check your Soul level, view your XP, enter the Underground Expedition, or activate Boss Form.

1. Reach Soulfall level 3 and keep the Determination Soul in your inventory. Use the Determination Soul or select Become The Boss in the Codex to activate Boss Form for 30 seconds.

For quick Creative testing, you can use commands such as /give @s com_undertale_soulfall_2nwtamo2:soul_core 1, /give @s com_undertale_soulfall_2nwtamo2:soul_altar 1, or /summon com_undertale_soulfall_2nwtamo2:soulfall_boss.

Overview

Undertale Soulfall combines Minecraft exploration and survival with Undertale, Deltarune, alternate-universe characters, original characters, Souls, special weapons, transformations, and boss encounters.

The main progression loop is:

1. Find or craft Soul-related materials.
2. Build an altar and awaken powerful encounters.
3. Earn Soul XP by challenging The Forgotten God.
4. Claim Souls and unlock stronger abilities.
5. Explore the Underground and search for rare characters, structures, encounters, and discoveries.

Soulfall progression is tracked separately for each player, making the system suitable for multiplayer adventures.

What It Adds

• Souls: Special items that can grant abilities, passive effects, attacks, movement powers, and transformations.
• Weapons: Soul blades, bone weapons, cursed weapons, guns, scythes, gauntlets, magic weapons, and character-themed equipment.
• Forms: Character transformations with different combat styles, movement, abilities, and conditions.
• Mobs and bosses: Common enemies, rare AU characters, mini-bosses, major bosses, custom bosses, and multi-phase encounters.
• Blocks and materials: Soul ores, Soul blocks, crafting materials, Soul containers, magical blocks, decorative blocks, workstations, ritual blocks, and character-themed blocks.
• Armor and equipment: Undertale- and AU-themed equipment with unique effects.
• Exploration: Soulfall content appears throughout the Overworld, while the Underground includes areas such as Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotland, True Lab, and New Home.
• Events and discoveries: Hidden structures, secret encounters, quests, random events, crafting, upgrading, and rare encounters.

Soulfall equipment is designed around special effects and abilities rather than automatically overpowering Netherite equipment.

How To Use

Soulfall Codex

Use the Soul Codex to open its menu. It displays:

• Your Soulfall level
• Your current Soul XP
• Progress toward the next level
• The Become The Boss option
• The Underground Expedition option

The Codex displays your progress in the form XP/current level requirement. New players begin at level 1 with 0 XP.

Underground Expedition

Select Underground Expedition in the Soul Codex to travel downward in your current dimension. You are moved approximately 28 blocks lower while staying at a safe minimum height of 12.

The expedition is a vertical journey rather than a separate dimension transfer. Bring equipment for caves and hostile encounters before descending.

Soulfall Altar

Place a Soulfall Altar in a suitable combat area. To awaken it:

1. Hold a Soul Core in your selected hotbar slot.
2. Interact with the altar.
3. The Soul Core is consumed.
4. The Forgotten God appears above the altar.

An altar cannot summon another Forgotten God while one is already within 32 blocks of it.

The Forgotten God

The Forgotten God can appear naturally in dark conditions in certain Soulfall Grove and Soulsand Valley areas. Natural spawning requires Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty and brightness of 7 or less.

The boss is also summonable with:

/summon com_undertale_soulfall_2nwtamo2:soulfall_boss

In Creative mode, look for The Forgotten God Spawn Egg.

The Forgotten God can fight in melee and can use ranged attacks when equipped with a ranged weapon. It enters Glitch Phase when reduced to half health. During this phase, its attacks intensify and it gains increased speed and strength.

Boss rewards

Defeating The Forgotten God provides:

• 1 Determination Soul
• 2–4 Soul Cores
• 1 bow
• A chance of a leather helmet
• A chance of a leather chestplate

Crafting And Obtaining

Soul Core

The Soul Core is the primary crafting material for Soulfall equipment and the offering used to awaken the Soulfall Altar.

You can also obtain Soul Cores by mining Soul Ore. Soul Ore drops 1–2 Soul Cores when broken.

Soulfall Altar

The Soulfall Altar is the central ritual block for the Forgotten God encounter.

The altar can be mined with a pickaxe and drops itself when obtained.

Soul Codex

The Soul Codex is your Soulfall progression menu.

Use it to view Soul XP, activate Boss Form when eligible, or begin an Underground Expedition.

Bone Blade

The Bone Blade is a sword made from a Soul Core, a bone, and an iron ingot.

It deals 7 damage, has 420 durability, and can receive sword enchantments.

Determination Soul

The Determination Soul is a unique, non-stackable Soul obtained from The Forgotten God. Keep it in your inventory to unlock Boss Form after reaching Soulfall level 3.

The Determination Soul is not consumed when Boss Form is activated, so it can be used again after the form expires.

Soul Ore

Soul Ore is a Soulfall material block that can be mined with a pickaxe. Each block drops 1–2 Soul Cores.

Soulfall Soil

Soulfall Soil is a Soulfall ground block that can be mined with a shovel. It drops itself when broken.

Soul Bloom

Soul Bloom is a decorative Soulfall plant. It breaks quickly and drops itself.

Abilities And Mechanics

Soul XP and Soul levels

Players begin at:

• Soulfall level: 1
• Soul XP: 0

Soul XP is earned by interacting with The Forgotten God:

• Awakening the boss with a Soul Core grants 2 Soul XP.
• Damaging the boss grants 2 Soul XP per damage event.

The XP needed for each level is based on the current level:

• Level 1 requires 10 XP to reach level 2.
• Level 2 requires 20 XP to reach level 3.
• Later levels require progressively more XP.

Your level and XP are shown in the Soul Codex and on the Soulfall action bar.

Boss Form

Boss Form requires both:

• Soulfall level 3 or higher
• A Determination Soul in your inventory

You can activate it in either of two ways:

• Use a held Determination Soul.
• Open the Soul Codex and select Become The Boss.

Boss Form lasts for 30 seconds and grants:

• Strength II
• Resistance I
• Speed I

The action bar shows the remaining Boss Form time. When the timer ends, the effects are removed and the Determination Soul remains available for later use.

If Boss Form is already active, attempting to activate it again has no effect.

Soul abilities and transformations

Souls are more than collectibles. Depending on the Soul, they can provide:

• Passive bonuses
• Special attacks
• Movement powers
• Combat effects
• Character transformations

Some Forms require a particular Soul, a progression level, or another special condition. Boss Form is the first clearly defined progression-locked transformation in the Soulfall system.

Boss phases

Some Soulfall bosses have multiple phases. The Forgotten God’s known phase transition occurs at half health:

• Normal Phase: The boss uses its standard combat behavior.
• Glitch Phase: The boss becomes faster and stronger, making the remainder of the fight more dangerous.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft a Soul Core early so you can begin Soulfall progression.
• Build the altar in an open area with room to dodge and fight.
• Keep extra Soul Cores available if you want to repeat the encounter.
• Use ranged weapons when possible, but prepare for melee combat if the boss closes the distance.
• Continue attacking The Forgotten God to earn Soul XP throughout the encounter.
• Do not fight casually once the boss reaches half health; Glitch Phase increases the danger.
• Store the Determination Soul safely after the fight. It is required for Boss Form but is not consumed when used.
• Craft the Soul Codex as soon as possible so you can monitor your level and access the Underground Expedition.
• Bring food, armor, weapons, and blocks when descending into the Underground.
• In multiplayer, coordinate one player to awaken the altar while others prepare the arena and watch for the phase transition.
