Tsunami Bucket
Quickstart
- Gather 7 Water Buckets and 1 empty Bucket, then craft the Tsunami Bucket at a crafting table:
- Find an open area — ideally somewhere flat with plenty of space in all directions.
- Place the Tsunami Bucket block on the ground.
- Watch a 10-block-tall wall of water erupt from the source and expand outward in every direction, ring by ring, up to 20 blocks away.
- To stop and remove the tsunami, simply break the Tsunami Bucket block (it breaks quickly and drops itself).
Overview
Tsunami Bucket adds a single placeable block that unleashes a dramatic, ever-expanding wave of water. The moment you set it down, a towering water wall begins radiating outward from that point. Break the source block at any time and the entire tsunami vanishes instantly, leaving no lasting flood behind.
What It Adds
| Item / Block | Description |
|---|
| Tsunami Bucket | A placeable block that generates an expanding water tsunami. Found in the Nature tab of the creative inventory. |
How To Use
- Place the Tsunami Bucket block anywhere in the world to start the tsunami.
- The wave expands one ring at a time, every couple of ticks, growing outward up to 20 blocks in radius across the X and Z axes.
- The water wall reaches 10 blocks tall, creating a massive visual and physical wave.
- Once the wave reaches its maximum radius, expansion stops — but the water remains until you remove the source.
- Break the Tsunami Bucket block (by mining it — it takes only half a second) to instantly clear all tsunami water and reclaim the block as a drop.
- The block is destroyed by explosions (no resistance), so it can also be detonated to stop the wave.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Tsunami Bucket at a crafting table using water buckets and an empty bucket:
The block also drops itself when broken, so you can pick it up and reuse it elsewhere.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Expanding rings: The tsunami grows outward one ring per expansion step, with a short delay between each ring, giving the wave a realistic radiating appearance.
- Height: Each ring of the wave is 10 blocks tall.
- Maximum reach: The wave expands up to 20 blocks outward from the source in all horizontal directions.
- Clean removal: Breaking the source block removes every water block the tsunami placed — no manual cleanup needed.
- No permanent flooding: Water placed by the tsunami does not persist after the source is removed, keeping your world tidy.
- Drops itself: The Tsunami Bucket always drops as a pickup when broken, so it is fully reusable.
Progression And Strategy
- Safe viewing distance: Stand back at least 20+ blocks before placing the block if you do not want to be caught in the wave.
- Controlled demolition: Because breaking the block instantly clears the water, you can use it for temporary flooding — fill a trench, trap mobs, then clean it all up in one break.
- Mob control: The tall, fast-expanding water wall can push mobs across large distances quickly.
- Pick a flat open space for the most dramatic effect; terrain will naturally block or redirect the wave just like normal water flow.
