Trucker Sniffer

Quickstart

1. Find the Trucker Spawn Egg in the Creative inventory, or wait for a Trucker to spawn naturally in the Overworld.
2. Use the spawn egg on the ground to summon a Trucker.
3. Interact with the Trucker to mount it. It has one seat for a player.
4. Hold Torchflower Seeds near it to make it follow you. Use the seeds on an injured Trucker to restore health.
5. Give Torchflower Seeds to two adult Truckers to breed them, then watch an adult sniff and dig around nearby soil.

With cheats enabled, you can summon one directly:

/summon com_trucker_sniffer_xnlvegz7:mysniffer ~ ~ ~

Overview

Trucker is a large, rideable sniffer-like creature designed for stylish exploration. It wanders independently, follows players holding Torchflower Seeds, periodically searches the ground, and can dig through several types of natural terrain.

Truckers are persistent, nameable mobs with 150 health. They can climb, float, and travel across paths near water, but they prefer to avoid water.

How To Use

Finding and Spawning Truckers

Truckers can naturally spawn:

• On the surface of the Overworld
• On Grass Blocks
• In brightness levels from 9 to 15
• In groups of one

They are uncommon, so using the Trucker Spawn Egg is the fastest way to start experimenting with one in Creative mode.

Riding

Interact with an adult or baby Trucker to mount it. Only one player can ride at a time, and no saddle is needed.

Truckers move on their own and can climb obstacles. Keep the terrain clear when setting up a travel route, and avoid lava because Truckers take continuous lava damage.

Feeding and Attracting

Torchflower Seeds are Trucker’s main food:

• Hold them to attract a Trucker.
• Feed them to restore 2 health per use.
• Feed two adults to begin breeding.
• Feed babies as their growth food.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for Trucker or its spawn egg.

You can obtain Truckers by:

• Finding them through natural Overworld spawning
• Using the Trucker Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory
• Using the /summon command with the Trucker entity ID

When a player kills a Trucker, it drops 1–3 Moss Blocks. Looting can increase the moss drop. There is also a small chance of receiving Torchflower Seeds, and Looting improves that chance.

Player kills can also provide 1–3 experience points.

Abilities And Mechanics

Sniffing and Digging

Adult Truckers periodically stop to scent their surroundings. After successfully scenting, they search an area roughly:

• 20 blocks horizontally
• 3 blocks vertically

They can search and dig on:

• Dirt
• Coarse Dirt
• Grass
• Podzol
• Dirt With Roots
• Moss Blocks
• Pale Moss Blocks
• Mud
• Muddy Mangrove Roots

A search normally lasts several seconds before the Trucker digs. After finding an item, it briefly appears happy before returning to its normal behavior. Babies do not perform the adult sniff-and-dig routine.

Leave suitable soil exposed around a Trucker if you want to see this behavior regularly.

Breeding

Feed Torchflower Seeds to two adult Truckers. They do not need to be tamed before breeding.

A successful pairing creates a Sniffer Egg. Adult Truckers can also produce experience when bred.

Babies

Newly spawned Truckers are usually adults, although some may be babies. Babies are much smaller and grow into adults after about 2,400 game ticks, or approximately two minutes. Feeding them Torchflower Seeds supports their growth.

Movement and Safety

Truckers have several useful movement traits:

• They can climb.
• They float and can path across water.
• They generally avoid water.
• They panic and move faster when frightened.
• Lava deals 4 damage per tick, so keep them away from lava pools and flowing lava.
• Truckers are persistent and do not naturally disappear.

Progression And Strategy

• Use a Trucker Spawn Egg first if you want to test riding and digging immediately.
• Keep Torchflower Seeds in your hotbar to guide, heal, or breed Truckers.
• Build a broad enclosure with exposed dirt, moss, or mud so adult Truckers have room to search.
• Keep at least two adults together if you want a renewable supply of Truckers through breeding.
• Protect them from lava and avoid trapping them in tight spaces; their large bodies need room to move.
• Name important Truckers with a Name Tag so you can identify them while exploring or breeding.
