Overview
The Tideforged Herald is a legendary trident forged from ocean and starlight relics. It never breaks, keeps you breathing and swimming like a dolphin as long as you hold it, and grants access to special water-themed abilities layered on top of normal trident combat.
What It Adds
- A unique unbreakable trident item with an epic rarity glint.
- Passive underwater survival buffs while holding the weapon.
- Special abilities: a heavy area attack, an emergency air burst, and a mobility dash.
- Bonus damage against wet targets.
- Enchantment restrictions that keep the weapon focused on its intended playstyle.
How To Use
Simply keep the Herald in your main hand or off-hand to benefit from its passive effects — no activation needed. To use its active abilities:
- Tide Dash: Sprint while holding down the use/attack button to charge, then release while still sprinting to launch yourself in the direction you're looking. Charging longer increases the launch distance. There's no cooldown, so use it freely for traversal.
- Tempest and Last Breath abilities are triggered through the weapon's normal use action and have cooldowns shown in the on-screen action bar (Tempest recharges roughly every 160 seconds, Last Breath roughly every 30 seconds).
- Throwing the trident works as normal, and it can be enchanted like any trident within allowed limits (see below).
The action bar displays live status for all three abilities — cooldown timers for Tempest and Last Breath, and charge percentage for Tide Dash — so you always know what's ready.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Tideforged Herald at a crafting table using the recipe shortcode above. The recipe combines a trident, a nether star, a heart of the sea, gold blocks, a conduit, and prismarine crystals — reflecting its status as a powerful, hard-to-obtain artifact rather than an early-game tool.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Continuous Water Breathing & Dolphin's Grace: Refreshed automatically every few seconds while the Herald is held, letting you explore underwater indefinitely and swim at full speed.
- Unbreakable: The weapon never loses durability and cannot be destroyed through normal use.
- Bonus Damage vs. Wet Targets: Enemies that are in water, or caught during an active weather-based bonus window, take extra damage from your hits.
- Tide Dash: A skill-based mobility ability charged by sprinting and holding use, released for a burst of forward (and slight upward) momentum. No cooldown — chain dashes as long as you can keep sprinting.
- Tempest and Last Breath: Cooldown-gated special actions triggered via the weapon's use action, offering powerful situational effects on a timer.
- Enchantment Restrictions: Only Loyalty, Impaling, Riptide, and Channeling can be applied. Any other enchantment placed on the weapon is automatically stripped, with a chat message confirming the removal.
Progression And Strategy
Because the Herald requires rare, late-game materials to craft, treat it as an endgame reward rather than something to rush. Once obtained, it turns any body of water into safe, fast terrain thanks to its passive buffs, while Tide Dash gives you strong mobility on land or sea. Save Tempest and Last Breath for tough encounters since they recharge slowly, and lean on the bonus damage against wet targets by fighting near or in water whenever possible.
