Thunder Sword

Quickstart

1. Craft the Thunder Sword at a crafting table using a lightning rod, diamond, and stick:

1. Equip it in your main hand.
2. Attack a mob or other target. Every successful hit calls down a lightning strike at the target, deals additional lightning damage, briefly sets it on fire, and knocks it back.
3. Hold the sword in your selected hotbar slot to see electric sparks and receive Resistance I.

In Creative mode, you can also obtain it with:

/give @s com_thunder_sword_xsvmdajg:my_sword

Overview

The Thunder Sword is a powerful melee weapon that adds a lightning strike to every successful attack. It is useful for fighting individual enemies, controlling close-range threats, and gaining a small defensive boost while equipped.

What It Adds

• Thunder Sword
  • Melee damage: 10
  • Maximum durability: 1,700
  • Maximum stack size: 1
  • Can be enchanted as a sword
  • Can be repaired with diamonds
• Thunder strike
  • Activates when the sword hits a target
  • Calls down lightning at the target’s location
  • Deals 5 additional lightning damage when the target is alive
  • Sets the target on fire for 2 seconds when possible
  • Knocks the target back
  • Produces electric sparks, critical-hit particles, and a thunderous sound
• Equipped effects
  • While the sword is selected in your main hand, electric sparks appear around you
  • You receive Resistance I while holding it in that slot

How To Use

Attacking

Use the sword’s normal attack control to strike a target. The thunder strike activates only when the attack hits; swinging and missing does not summon lightning.

The strike is centered on the entity you hit. It does not intentionally apply the sword’s bonus damage or knockback to nearby entities.

Holding The Sword

Keep the Thunder Sword selected in your hotbar to activate its passive effects. Sparks appear around the player, and Resistance I is continually refreshed while the sword remains in your main hand.

Simply carrying it in another inventory slot does not activate these effects.

Fire And Knockback

The thunder strike attempts to ignite its target for 2 seconds and pushes it away from you. Fire-immune targets cannot be ignited, and targets that do not support knockback may not move.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the sword at a crafting table with:

• 1 lightning rod
• 1 diamond
• 1 stick

The lightning rod goes above the diamond, and the stick goes below it in the crafting pattern.

In Creative mode, search for Thunder Sword in the equipment category or use the /give command from the Quickstart section.

Abilities And Mechanics

The lightning strike includes a visible lightning-bolt effect at the target. The strike also produces a custom thunder sound.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the sword as soon as you have access to a lightning rod, diamond, and stick.
• Use it against dangerous single targets where the bonus damage and knockback give you room to maneuver.
• Keep it selected while exploring or fighting to benefit from Resistance I.
• Use knockback to interrupt enemies and create distance before striking again.
• Carry diamonds for repairs. Each diamond can restore up to 425 durability.
• Enchant it with sword enchantments to improve its melee performance.
