Description
Explore your world and look for The Sift biome.
Use the Creative inventory to obtain Sift Soil, Sift Stone, Siftwood Log, Siftwood Leaves, Shimmer Reed, and Sift Bloom. Place them to build with or decorate your own Sift-themed area.
Find a Siftling in The Sift, or use a Siftling Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory.
Hold a slime ball near a Siftling to attract it. Feed slime balls to two Siftlings to breed them.
For a quick test creature, use:
/summon com_the_sift_zeuns7q2:siftling
Craft Sift Shards at a crafting table. They are also dropped when a Siftling is killed by a player.
The Sift is a biome-focused Minecraft experience featuring its own terrain blocks, plants, wood, and amphibious creature. Explore the biome, gather its natural materials, decorate with Sift blocks, and observe Siftlings as they move between land and water.
| Content | Use |
|---|---|
| Sift Soil | Soil-like terrain block; a shovel is effective for mining it. |
| Sift Stone | Stone-like building block; mine it with a pickaxe. |
| Siftwood Log | Custom wood block; an axe is effective for mining it. |
| Siftwood Leaves | Decorative foliage block. |
| Shimmer Reed | Decorative plant. |
| Sift Bloom | Decorative flower-like plant. |
Breaking the custom blocks and plants gives the corresponding block or item, allowing you to collect and relocate them.
The Siftling is a small frog-like creature that can live both on land and in water. It can spawn naturally in The Sift in groups of 2–5 when suitable surface blocks are present, including Sift Soil, grass, and dirt.
Siftlings can also be obtained with a Siftling Spawn Egg or summoned with:
/summon com_the_sift_zeuns7q2:siftling
Collect Sift Soil, Sift Stone, Siftwood, leaves, and plants from The Sift, then place them like ordinary Minecraft blocks. Use the appropriate tool when gathering larger quantities:
Shimmer Reed and Sift Bloom are especially useful for adding Sift vegetation around paths, ponds, and buildings.
Siftlings can be:
They are not restricted to water: Siftlings breathe both air and water, and they move between land and water on their own.
A Sift Shard is crafted from glow ink sacs, quartz, and orange dye. The recipe produces 2 Sift Shards.

You can also obtain a Sift Shard by killing a Siftling yourself. Siftlings do not drop this item when killed by other causes.
Explore The Sift to gather its themed blocks and plants. The blocks can also be obtained from the Creative inventory:
Siftlings have 10 health and are amphibious. They can swim, walk, jump, and move through water without drowning. They avoid harmful blocks and take damage from lava.
Siftlings may jump toward water lilies and big dripleaves, while avoiding jumping directly into water during this behavior. They also periodically croak when they are on land.
When a Siftling spawns, it produces The Sift’s ambience sound at its location.
Siftlings have temperate, cold, and warm appearances. Their appearance is selected according to the biome conditions where they spawn.
Hold a slime ball to tempt a Siftling and use slime balls on two Siftlings to breed them. After breeding:
Siftlings can hunt and eat certain Slimes and Magma Cubes that they can see nearby. Their eating behavior can provide useful drops:
| Creature eaten | Result |
|---|---|
| Slime | Slime Ball |
| Magma Cube | Froglight based on the Siftling’s variant: Ochre, Verdant, or Pearlescent |
