Description:
This mod adds a towering Red Dragon that patrols the main End island as a hostile, repeatable late-game boss with roughly 5000 HP, a delayed bite attack, and new aerial circling and swoop maneuvers — the dragon now flies with visible wings and flapping animations, forcing players to use ranged tactics and movement to engage. During the fight the dragon can break nearby breakable blocks (while protecting critical blocks like bedrock, portals, command/structure blocks, obsidian, and liquids), making terrain and cover temporary and changing the battlefield as you battle. Slaying the dragon rewards the Dragon Fang — an extremely powerful sword that grants Resistance IV and a large temporary health bonus when held — plus Dragon Scales to craft a full set of Dragon Armor with diamond-tier protection and permanent fire resistance, along with gold, diamonds, emeralds, and randomly enchanted books for rich endgame progression.

The Red Dragon
Quickstart
- Reach The End — travel through a stronghold portal and arrive on the main End island. The Red Dragon spawns there automatically as a hostile boss.
- Come prepared — the dragon has 5,000 HP. Bring a bow or crossbow with plenty of arrows, strong armor, and healing items. Ranged attacks are essential.
- Fight and slay it — dodge swoops, keep moving, and whittle it down. On death it drops the Dragon Fang, Dragon Scales, gold, diamonds, emeralds, and enchanted books.
- Equip your rewards — hold the Dragon Fang to gain powerful combat buffs instantly. Use Dragon Scales at a crafting table to forge a full set of Dragon Armor.
- Can't find the dragon? You can also use The Red Dragon Spawn Egg (found in the Creative inventory or via
/give) to summon one anywhere.
Overview
The Red Dragon is a towering late-game boss that patrols the main End island indefinitely and respawns after being defeated, making it a repeatable endgame challenge. It flies on visible, flapping wings, circles high above, and periodically dives to bite players. The fight is dynamic: the dragon can destroy most breakable blocks around it, steadily dismantling terrain and any cover you try to use.

How To Use
Engaging the Dragon
- The dragon automatically spawns on the main End island when a player is present. Only one dragon exists at a time; a new one appears after the previous one is defeated.
- It detects players and iron golems within a wide range and immediately becomes hostile.
- It is immune to fire and fall damage and cannot be knocked back. All damage must come from you.
- Use ranged weapons (bows, crossbows, tridents) to deal damage while it circles overhead. Stay mobile to avoid its swoop dives and delayed bite.
- The dragon breaks most nearby blocks during combat — don't rely on walls or pillars for protection. Bedrock, obsidian, portals, and liquids are safe; almost everything else is not.
- Slaying it rewards 500 XP plus all loot drops.
Dragon Fang
Equip the Dragon Fang in your main hand to gain continuous buffs (refreshed automatically while held):
- Resistance IV — greatly reduces all incoming damage
- Health Boost — significantly increases your maximum hearts
- Absorption — grants a large buffer of absorption hearts
The Dragon Fang deals 28 damage per hit and is enchantable in the sword slot.
Dragon Armor
Craft and wear the full set for permanent Fire Resistance (automatically applied while wearing all four pieces). Each piece is enchantable and can be repaired with Dragon Scales at an anvil.
Crafting And Obtaining
All Dragon Armor is crafted from Dragon Scales dropped by the Red Dragon (18–32 scales per kill) at a crafting table.
Dragon Helmet
Dragon Chestplate
Dragon Leggings
Dragon Boots

Abilities And Mechanics
| Ability | Details |
|---|
| Aerial Circling | Continuously circles at height, adjusting radius (12–38 blocks) and altitude dynamically |
| Swoop Attack | Dives at the player with increased speed; triggers every 4–8 seconds |
| Delayed Bite | Telegraphed melee bite with a short wind-up before impact |
| Block Breaking | Destroys most breakable blocks nearby during combat; protects bedrock, obsidian, portals, and liquids |
| Knockback Immunity | Cannot be pushed by any source |
| Fire Immunity | Immune to all fire and lava damage |
| Flapping Animations | Wings visibly flap with idle, fly, bite, roar, and stun animations |
Progression And Strategy
Preparation checklist before entering the End:
- Full diamond or netherite armor
- A maxed bow/crossbow (Power, Infinity or many stacks of arrows)
- Golden apples or potions of Regeneration and Resistance
- Ender pearls for repositioning
During the fight:
- Keep strafing and never stand still — the swoop and bite have brief telegraphs you can dodge.
- Don't build cover; the dragon will break it. Instead use the natural terrain of the End island and keep moving.
- If you have iron golems, they will also draw the dragon's aggro and help chip down its health.
- The dragon has complete knockback resistance, so melee is risky unless you have the Dragon Fang's Resistance IV buff already active.
After the first kill:
- Immediately equip the Dragon Fang to gain its defensive buffs before the next encounter.
- Craft the full Dragon Armor set as soon as possible — wearing all four pieces grants permanent Fire Resistance, which is invaluable in the End and Nether.
- Dragon Armor can be enchanted and repaired with Dragon Scales, making it a sustainable late-game equipment set you can continuously improve.
- The dragon respawns, so you can farm additional scales, gold, diamonds, emeralds, and treasure-enchanted books as often as needed.
