Quickstart

1. Head out and find the Potile — a real-world "potato biome" full of tuber-themed terrain, plants, and mobs.
2. Grab some potatoes and craft Potato Bricks or Potato Chips right away using the recipes below.
3. Tame or fight the local wildlife: feed Potato Pigs carrots, beetroot, or potatoes to breed them, or watch out for Potato Zombies that spawn in the dark.
4. Explore caves for skittish Potato Bats, and check jungle grass for wild Potato Chickens that can be tamed with seeds.
5. Collect the biome's special loot — Potato Gems, Potato Coins, and the Potile Compass — to track down more of this strange land.

Overview

The Potile turns potatoes into an entire biome. Instead of ordinary stone, dirt, and wood, this land is built from potato-themed variants of everything: potato soil instead of dirt, potato logs instead of wood, potato ore buried in potato stone, and fields of potato blossoms growing over potato turf. The biome is home to its own animals and monsters, all recognizably "potato" versions of familiar Minecraft creatures, plus a set of unique tools, foods, and trinkets tied to the potato theme.

Blocks The Potile brings a full building and terrain block set themed around potatoes, including: Potato Turf, Potato Soil, Potato Log and Stripped Potato Log, Potato Leaves, Potato Blossom, Potato Stone, Potato Ore, Potato Bricks, Potato Crate, Potato Cobble, Potato Planks, Potato Sand, Potato Gravel, Potato Mud, Potato Clay, Potato Glass, Potato Tile, Potato Pillar, Potato Lamp, Potato Sack, Potato Chip Block, Mashed Potato Block, Baked Potato Block, Potato Wall, Potato Path, Potato Moss, and Potato Root. These behave like their vanilla counterparts (walls, paths, stairs-style building blocks, light sources, etc.) and can be used to build and decorate a potato-styled base.

Crafting And Obtaining

Other Potile materials, gems, and trinkets are found as natural terrain, mob drops, or biome loot rather than crafted — explore the biome and defeat its mobs to collect them. Potato Zombies have a small chance to drop iron ingots, carrots, or potatoes in addition to the usual rotten flesh, and Potato Pigs and Potato Chickens drop porkchop and feathers respectively when defeated.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Taming and Riding: Potato Pigs can be saddled and ridden once tamed with food; Potato Chickens can be tamed with seeds and will perch, sit, or fly alongside you.
• Breeding: Feed two adult Potato Pigs carrots, beetroot, or potatoes to produce a baby, which grows into an adult over time.
• Transformation Hazards: Potato Pigs turn hostile when struck by lightning. Potato Zombies slowly convert into Drowned if they stay underwater too long, so don't expect to trap one in water indefinitely.
• Combat: Potato Zombies can equip weapons and armor they find or are given, break down wooden doors, and occasionally mount another potato zombie as a rider.
• Spawning: Potato Chickens appear in jungle biomes during the day; Potato Bats spawn in dark caves; Potato Zombies spawn throughout the Potile biome in low light.

Progression And Strategy

Start by scavenging the surface of the Potile for basic potato blocks and food, then dip into caves to find Potato Ore and fend off Potato Bats. As you explore further, tame a Potato Pig or Potato Chicken for companionship or transportation, and be ready to fight off Potato Zombies at night — their equipment drops and rare loot (iron, carrots, potatoes) make them worth engaging carefully. Use the Potile Compass to navigate the biome's terrain, and collect Potato Gems and Potato Coins as you go for later crafting and trading use. Building with the wide range of potato-themed blocks lets you set up a base entirely in the local aesthetic.
