The Glitched Entity

Quickstart

1. Install the .mcaddon and enable both the behavior and resource packs for your world.
2. Head into the Nether — The Glitched Entity spawns naturally in Nether Wastes, Basalt Deltas, and Warped Forest biomes, usually alone or in pairs.
3. If you want to encounter one immediately, use the Glitched Entity Spawn Egg (dark navy with green overlay) from the Creative inventory, or run: /summon com_the_gliched_entity_nqymlj4y:myhoglin
4. Be ready to fight — it will attack you on sight. Come armed and armored.

Overview

The Glitched Entity is a corrupted, flying variant of the Hoglin. It appears as a heavily pixelated, distorted beast with a dark color scheme, like something pulled from a broken dimension. Unlike a normal Hoglin, it cannot be scared off, never calms down, and takes to the air — making it a persistent aerial threat in the Nether.

What It Adds

Abilities And Mechanics

• Flight: The Glitched Entity flies freely, hovering and navigating through the air. It has no gravity and takes no fall damage.
• Relentless Aggression: It attacks every player and mob within 24 blocks on sight, broadcasting its anger to nearby Glitched Entities within 32 blocks. Once enraged, it never calms down on its own.
• High Durability: 60 HP combined with full knockback immunity makes it extremely difficult to stagger or push back.
• Undead Nature: It belongs to the undead and Zoglin families, meaning it reacts like an undead mob in relevant situations (e.g., healing potions harm it).
• Lava Vulnerability: Despite its resilience, lava deals 4 damage per tick to it.
• Custom Sounds: It emits its own distorted roar as an ambient and anger sound, with Zoglin-style attack, hurt, and death audio.

Drops

The Glitched Entity drops loot from all five pools simultaneously on death:

The Echo Shard and Nether Star are exclusive player-kill rewards — mob kills yield none. Use a Looting sword to improve your odds on these rare drops.

Progression And Strategy

Preparation:

• Bring strong armor (ideally Protection-enchanted Netherite or Diamond).
• Use a Looting III sword to maximize your chances of the rare Echo Shard and Nether Star drops.
• Bring a bow or crossbow — since it flies, it can be hard to track in tight Nether terrain.

Combat Tips:

• The Glitched Entity is immune to knockback, so don't rely on shields or knockback enchantments to create distance.
• It broadcasts anger to nearby Glitched Entities, so pulling one in a group can quickly escalate the fight.
• Lava can be used as environmental damage if you can maneuver it over a lava sea — it takes 4 damage per tick from lava contact.
• A Nether Star drop is extremely rare (2% base), so Looting III is strongly recommended for farming trophy drops.

Rewards: Defeating The Glitched Entity consistently is a challenging mid-to-late Nether activity. The Nether Star drop in particular makes it a high-risk, high-reward target for players looking to skip or supplement the Wither boss fight for beacon crafting.
