Teldrassil (or just a huge tree)

Description

Teldrassil — was SUPPOSED to be an exact, large-scale replica of the World of Warcraft World Tree. A single colossal tree built to reach 360 blocks tall ... it looks nothing like Teldrassil, but it is really cool and if you use it you should place it in the ocean and at least 36 blocks down for maximum aesthetic effect.

Teldrassil

Quickstart

  1. Install the .mcaddon and apply both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack to your world.
  2. Open your inventory (Equipment tab) and find the Teldrassil Wand.
  3. Find a large, flat open area — the tree needs roughly 260 × 260 blocks of horizontal space and over 360 blocks of vertical clearance.
  4. Stand at the spot where you want the base of the tree, aim at the ground, and use (right-click / tap) the Teldrassil Wand. A projectile fires and, on impact, begins assembling the full structure chunk by chunk around that point.
  5. Wait a moment while all sections load in, then start exploring from the roots upward.

Tip: Place yourself at ground level in a superflat or high-altitude world for the best experience. The tree rises to ~360 blocks tall, so worlds near the build-height limit may clip the canopy.

Overview

Teldrassil is a large-scale replica of the World Tree from World of Warcraft, faithfully reconstructed in Minecraft at its original iconic scale. The tree stands approximately 360 blocks tall — nearly the full Bedrock build-height — and spans hundreds of blocks at its widest canopy. Every major visual element of the source design is present: the massive gnarled trunk, the layered root network spreading out at the base, enormous arching branches, dense leaf canopies, and the network of platforms and pathways that make the tree navigable on foot.

What It Adds

ContentDescription
Teldrassil WandA handheld item that fires a projectile; on impact it places the entire Teldrassil structure relative to the hit location.
Custom RGB BlocksDozens of unique full-cube blocks with hand-painted colour textures that form the bark, wood, and foliage of the tree. Each takes about 1.5 seconds to mine and has no explosion resistance.
Teldrassil StructureThe colossal tree itself — assembled from over 100 individual structure segments seamlessly stitched together.

How To Use

Placing the Tree

The Teldrassil Wand is found in the Equipment category of the Creative inventory. Equip it in your main hand. When you use the wand, it fires a small projectile that travels in a gentle arc. The moment the projectile strikes a surface, a burst particle effect plays and the full tree structure begins loading at that impact point.

  • The structure loads block by block, so give it a few seconds to fully materialise.
  • The wand has a 2-second cooldown between shots, preventing accidental double-placement.
  • Because the structure is placed relative to where the projectile lands, aim carefully — the tree's base anchors 1 block above the hit surface.

Exploring the Tree

Once placed, Teldrassil is fully navigable in Survival or Creative:

  • Roots — Start at ground level and walk through the enormous root arches spreading outward from the trunk base.
  • Trunk interior — Hollow chambers wind through the core of the trunk, accessible by finding openings in the bark.
  • Terraces & platforms — Broad flat areas are built into the trunk and major branches at various heights, connected by stairways and bridges.
  • Canopy — The uppermost branches spread into dense leaf canopies near the 300–360 block range. Reach them via the internal stairways or by flying in Creative.

Abilities And Mechanics

Teldrassil Wand

  • Slot: Main hand (Equipment category)
  • Action: Fires a projectile on use; the projectile places the Teldrassil structure on impact.
  • Cooldown: 2 seconds per shot.
  • Projectile behaviour: Travels like a thrown snowball (light gravity, moderate speed). Does zero damage on impact — it will not hurt mobs or players.
  • Cannot destroy blocks in Creative, so it won't accidentally break anything when used.

Custom Blocks

All of the tree's custom blocks share the same properties:

  • Mining time: 1.5 seconds (hand-minable, no tool required).
  • Explosion resistance: None — the blocks are fragile to explosions, so avoid building near TNT.
  • Appearance: Each block carries a unique RGB-accurate texture representing the colours of Teldrassil's bark, wood grain, and foliage.

Progression And Strategy

Teldrassil is a Creative/exploration experience rather than a survival progression system. Here are some recommended ways to engage with it:

  • Sightseeing run: Start at the roots and climb all the way to the canopy using only the built-in staircases and bridges — no flying. The height gain is genuinely impressive and mirrors the feel of navigating the original zone.
  • Base building: The hollowed trunk chambers and wide terraces make excellent ready-made spaces for a megabase. The custom blocks are minable, so you can reshape rooms to suit your needs.
  • Photography / showcase: Place the tree in a world with a sky biome or above cloud level for dramatic screenshots. The silhouette is recognisable from hundreds of blocks away.
  • Scale reference: Standing at the base of the trunk next to a standard Minecraft tree illustrates just how massive the 360-block height truly is — a useful anchor for players planning enormous builds of their own.
