Symbiote Overdrive

Quickstart

1. Obtain the Symbiote Overdrive sword from the Creative inventory under Equipment, or use:

   /give @s com_symbiote_overdrive_oxlpogmf:my_sword
   

2. Equip it in your main hand or off-hand.
3. Use the sword to activate Venom form. On Bedrock, use the item button while holding the sword.
4. Use the sword again to switch between Venom and Carnage forms.
5. Attack mobs, bosses, or other players while transformed to trigger the form’s special hit effects.

Overview

Symbiote Overdrive adds a powerful, enchanted-looking sword that grants two combat forms. Each form gives you enhanced abilities and adds a different effect to enemies you hit.

The sword is single-stacked, has a base damage of 8, and has 512 durability.

How To Use

Activate and Switch Forms

Hold the Symbiote Overdrive sword and use it:

• The first use activates Venom form.
• Using it again switches to Carnage form.
• A further use switches back to Venom.
• Only one form is active at a time.

A message appears when a form is activated.

Combat

Attack a target while a form is active to apply its special effect. The form’s enhancements remain refreshed while active, so you can keep fighting without manually reactivating the form.

The sword can be used against entities with health, including hostile mobs, bosses, and players.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Symbiote Overdrive at a crafting table using obsidian, a Nether Star, a diamond sword, and an Eye of Ender.

You can also obtain it directly from the Creative inventory or with the /give command shown in the Quickstart.

Abilities And Mechanics

Venom Form

Venom form provides:

• Strength II
• Speed II
• Resistance
• Jump Boost II
• Night Vision

When you hit an enemy in Venom form:

• The target takes 4 magic damage.
• The target receives Weakness II for 3 seconds.
• If the attack kills the target, you gain Regeneration and Absorption for 5 seconds.

Venom is the more balanced form, combining mobility, defense, and reliable combat pressure.

Carnage Form

Carnage form provides:

• Strength III
• Speed III
• Haste II
• Resistance II
• Jump Boost III
• Fire Resistance
• Night Vision

When you hit an enemy in Carnage form:

• The target takes 6 magic damage.
• The target receives Wither for 4 seconds.
• If the attack kills the target, you gain stronger Regeneration and Absorption for 5 seconds.

Carnage is suited to aggressive attacks, high-damage encounters, and fighting groups of tough enemies.

Progression And Strategy

• Start in Venom form when exploring or fighting unfamiliar enemies.
• Switch to Carnage for bosses, heavily armored targets, or fast-paced battles.
• Use Carnage’s Fire Resistance when fighting around lava or fire.
• Finish weakened enemies to activate the healing and absorption reward.
• Keep the sword repaired or replace it when its 512 durability is exhausted.
• Since the sword works in the off-hand, you can pair it with another weapon or tool while still using its symbiote abilities.
