Description

The Superball Flower is a throwable item that launches bouncing superball projectiles when right-clicked. Each superball ricochets off walls, floors, and ceilings with satisfying floaty physics, dealing 3 hearts of damage to any mob it strikes before bouncing away to potentially hit others. As the superball travels, it magnetically pulls nearby dropped items back to you, making it great for collecting loot. Each ball shatters after 5 bounces or disappears on its own after 10 seconds.

Quickstart

  1. Craft a Superball Flower using the recipe below — you'll find it in the Combat tab of your inventory.
  2. Hold it in your hand and right-click to throw a bouncing superball in the direction you're looking.

Overview

The Superball Flower is a reusable throwable weapon that fires bouncy projectiles with low gravity and satisfying ricochets. It doubles as a loot magnet, pulling dropped items toward you as the ball flies through the air. Each Superball Flower stacks up to 16, making it easy to carry a healthy supply into combat or exploration.

What It Adds

  • Superball Flower — a throwable item with an enchantment-like glint, found in the Combat creative tab.
  • Superball projectile — the bouncing ball launched when you use the item.

How To Use

  • Right-click (Use Item) to throw a superball in your crosshair's direction.
  • There is a short cooldown between throws to prevent rapid-fire spamming.
  • The superball travels with floaty, low-gravity physics and bounces off any solid surface it strikes.
  • Any mob the ball hits takes 6 damage (3 hearts). After hitting a mob the ball deflects and can go on to hit additional targets.
  • Dropped items within roughly one block of the ball's path are pulled toward you automatically.
  • The ball shatters in a burst of critical-hit particles after 5 total bounces (surface or mob hits combined), or disappears on its own after 10 seconds — whichever comes first.
  • A slime-block thud sound plays on each wall bounce so you always know where the ball is.

Crafting And Obtaining

Surround a Dandelion with four Slime Balls in a plus/cross pattern:

The recipe is unlocked as soon as you join a world, so no prerequisite items are required beyond the basic ingredients.

Abilities And Mechanics

PropertyValue
Damage per mob hit6 (3 hearts)
Max bounces before shattering5
Auto-despawn timer10 seconds
Item pull radius~1 block around the ball
Stack size16
Throw cooldown~0.5 seconds

Ricochet physics — The ball reflects off the axis of whatever face it strikes: hitting a floor reverses vertical velocity, hitting a wall reverses horizontal velocity. Each wall bounce slightly dampens speed (×0.8), so the ball gradually slows over its lifetime.

Item magnetism — While the superball is in flight, any item entities near it are teleported toward your position. This makes it excellent for sweeping up loot after a fight without having to chase every drop.

Mob bounce — On hitting a living entity, the ball reverses its horizontal direction and continues upward, potentially striking additional mobs nearby before its bounce count runs out.

Progression And Strategy

  • Crowd control — Throw the superball into tight corridors or cave tunnels where it will naturally ricochet between clustered mobs, racking up multiple hits per throw.
  • Loot sweeping — After clearing a room, toss a superball through the debris field to automatically collect drops without running over each one individually.
  • Stack up — Since the item stacks to 16, carrying a full stack gives you 16 throws before resupplying. Keep slime balls and dandelions in your base to restock easily.
  • Aim for walls — A ball thrown at a nearby wall will bounce back into a group of mobs behind you, effectively giving you a rear attack.
  • Watch the bounce count — The ball shatters at 5 bounces regardless of what it hits, so in open areas with fewer obstacles you'll get more flight time per throw.
