Steel Creeper Tech
Quickstart
- Get a Steel Creeper Tech Wand (spawn it in via creative inventory or a command, since there is no crafting recipe for it).
- Load it with a Wand Projectile in your offhand (this is consumed automatically when you fire).
- Aim at open ground and use the wand to fire the projectile.
- Wherever the projectile lands, a massive stone creeper temple rises out of the ground, complete with guardian creepers and a trading creeper waiting at the entrance.
- Fight your way in, trade with the Stone Creeper Traders, and explore the statue's many chambers and levels.
Overview
Steel Creeper Tech lets you summon an enormous stone temple shaped like a giant creeper statue anywhere in your world. Instead of finding a pre-placed structure, you trigger its construction yourself with a special wand. Once summoned, the temple is populated with stone creeper guardians and friendly (if dangerous-looking) trader creepers who exchange valuable items for gems.
What It Adds
- Steel Creeper Tech Wand – a ranged tool that fires a magical projectile to instantly construct the temple.
- Wand Projectile – ammunition item/entity used by the wand; disappears on impact and triggers the build.
- Stone Creeper – a stone-textured creeper-like guardian mob that patrols the temple grounds. Behaves peacefully toward players (it doesn't explode) and drops gunpowder, with a chance of music discs if killed by skeletons, strays, or bogged.
- Stone Creeper Spawn Egg – lets you spawn regular Stone Creepers directly.
- Center Stone Creeper Trader – a sturdier stone creeper NPC stationed inside the temple (and one at the temple gate) that offers trades.
- Center Stone Creeper Trader Spawn Egg – lets you spawn a trader directly.
How To Use
Summoning the Temple
- Hold the Steel Creeper Tech Wand and have a Wand Projectile in your offhand.
- Right-click/use the wand to launch the projectile.
- On impact, the temple's many stone sections build themselves layer by layer around the impact point, from ground level up to tall towers overhead.
- The area is instantly cleared of hostile monsters within range, and you and nearby players get temporary speed and resistance buffs to help you get inside safely.
- Stone Creeper guards spawn at multiple rings around the temple, along with two Stone Creeper Traders — one at the front gate and one at the temple's center.
Trading
Approach a Stone Creeper Trader and interact with the correct item in hand:
| Action | Cost | Reward |
|---|
| Trade for Structure Staff | 12 Diamonds | 1 Steel Creeper Tech Wand |
| Trade for Rare Loot | 8 Emeralds | 1 Enchanted Golden Apple + 2 Diamonds |
Simply hold the required item and interact with the trader creeper to complete the trade automatically.
Fighting Stone Creepers
Stone Creepers can be defeated for loot. They mainly drop gunpowder, and if you can arrange for a skeleton, stray, or bogged to land the killing blow, they have a chance to drop a music disc instead.
Crafting And Obtaining
There are no crafting recipes for the wand or its projectile — obtain them through creative inventory, commands, or by trading 12 diamonds with a Stone Creeper Trader for a replacement wand. Spawn eggs for both Stone Creeper types are also available directly from the creative inventory for quick testing or decoration.
Abilities And Mechanics
- The wand has a short cooldown between uses, so temples can't be spammed instantly one after another.
- The temple build process happens in stages, block by block, so watch as the towering structure assembles itself piece by piece.
- Traders are non-hostile and won't move once placed, making them easy to find and interact with.
- Stone Creepers can climb and path over obstacles, and swell up visually similar to normal creepers, but they do not explode or damage players on contact.
Progression And Strategy
- Save up diamonds and emeralds before triggering the temple, since you'll want to trade with the Stone Creeper Traders once inside.
- Use the temporary resistance and speed buff granted at summon time to push into the temple quickly before it wears off.
- Clearing nearby monsters at the moment of summoning gives you a brief safe window to explore the lower levels before other threats return.
- Explore upward — the temple has stacked levels reaching well above ground, so look for paths leading to the higher towers for additional rewards and access points.
