Starlight Death

Quickstart

1. Find and defeat Starlight Death, a hostile skeleton-like boss that spawns in dark areas of the deep dark, soulsand valleys, or the End on Normal/Hard difficulty.
2. When it falls, it has a strong chance to drop the Starlight Spear — pick it up and equip it in your hand.
3. Use the Spear (right-click / trigger the use action) to unleash Starlight Nova: a burst of buffs plus a volley of homing skull projectiles.
4. Watch your chat for a cooldown message — the ability needs about 12 seconds to recharge before you can use it again.
5. Keep fighting Starlight Death for repeat drops: bones, arrows, a named wither skeleton skull, a Starlight Core, and rare high-tier loot.

Overview

Starlight Death is a boss-tier hostile mob wrapped in a starlit, void-blue aesthetic. It fights like an empowered skeleton — switching between melee and ranged combat, summoning fireballs in a Starlight Nova burst of its own, and hitting far harder than a normal mob. Defeating it is the way to obtain the Starlight Spear, a powerful magic weapon with its own activated ability.

What It Adds

• Starlight Death — a boss variant of the skeleton that spawns in dark, dangerous biomes.
• Starlight Spear — a heavy melee weapon dropped by the boss, usable as a sword with a triggered special attack.
• Starlight Death Spawn Egg — lets you summon the boss directly in Creative or via commands.
• Unique loot table featuring rare and renamed items tied to the boss's theme.

How To Use

Finding the boss: Starlight Death spawns naturally underground in dark spots (light level 0–3) within deep dark caves, soulsand valleys, and the End, on Normal difficulty or higher. It always spawns alone. You can also summon it instantly using its spawn egg from your inventory or creative menu.

Fighting it: It behaves like a heavily reinforced skeleton — it will shoot arrows at range, switch to melee when you close the distance, and periodically unleashes its own ring of fireballs (Starlight Nova) around itself. Its melee hits are very powerful, so come prepared with armor and healing.

Using the Starlight Spear:

• Hold it and attack normally like a sword — it hits hard and has high durability.
• Use/activate it to trigger Starlight Nova: you gain Strength, Speed, Resistance, and Night Vision for a short time, and five ghostly skulls streak out in a cone in the direction you're facing, exploding on impact.
• This ability has roughly a 12-second cooldown; trying to use it early shows a countdown message in chat.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Starlight Spear cannot be crafted — it is only obtained as a drop from defeating Starlight Death. No crafting recipes are associated with this mod.

Progression And Strategy

Treat Starlight Death as an end-game or challenge encounter — its melee damage and ranged pressure can overwhelm underprepared players. Bring strong armor, healing items, and be ready to dodge both arrows and its fireball burst.

Repeated kills are worthwhile: beyond the guaranteed chance at the Starlight Spear, the loot table can reward large stacks of bones and arrows, a named "Starlight Death's Skull," a renamed "Starlight Core" (a nether star), and rare chances at netherite scrap, stacks of diamonds, and an enchanted "Fragment of the Void Blade" netherite sword. Farming this boss is a good way to gather high-end materials and gear alongside claiming its signature weapon.
