Quickstart

1. Craft the Spireforge Spear using the recipe below.
2. Equip it in your hand and go looking for something to hit.
3. Left-click (attack) for quick jabs.
4. Right-click and hold (use) to ready a charged lunge, then land a hit shortly after to unleash a powerful thrust with heavy knockback.
5. Keep an eye on durability — the spear wears down both from fighting and simply from being held.

Overview

The Spireforge Spear is a Nether-forged melee weapon that behaves like a hybrid between a sword and a spear. It rewards players who mix fast jabs with timed charged strikes, but it comes at a cost: the weapon steadily loses durability, even just from being carried in hand.

Crafting And Obtaining

The spear is forged from Nether-tier materials in a crafting table.

Abilities And Mechanics

Jabs (basic attacks): Simply hitting an enemy with a left-click swing deals reliable, moderate damage with light knockback — your everyday spear jab.

Charged Lunge: Right-click and hold to enter a brief charge window. While charging, you get a burst of forward knockback (stronger while sprinting), simulating a lunging thrust. If you land a hit on an enemy within that short window, it triggers a devastating charged strike instead of a normal jab — dealing much heavier damage, strong knockback, and a distinct impact sound. Missing the window means your next hit is just a regular jab.

There's a short cooldown after charging before you can charge again, so charges must be timed deliberately rather than spammed.

Durability Wear: The spear loses durability from normal combat use like any weapon, but it also slowly wears down just from being held in your hand over time — even if you're not fighting. Keep this in mind if you plan to carry it for extended periods; it will eventually need repair even from passive use.

Repairing: The spear can be repaired at an anvil using:

• Netherite Ingots — restores a large portion of durability.
• Gold Ingots — restores a smaller portion of durability.

It can also be enchanted like a sword, so enchantments such as Unbreaking, Sharpness, or Knockback can further enhance or offset its wear and combat performance.

Progression And Strategy

Use jabs for sustained damage during extended fights, and save the charged lunge for finishing blows or opening an engagement with a hard-hitting first strike. Because the charge window is short, practice timing your right-click just before you're about to connect with a target. Since the weapon wears down even while idle in your hand, consider swapping it out when not actively needed, and keep netherite or gold on hand for repairs during longer expeditions.
