Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, search for Sniffet Spawn Egg in the inventory.

2. Use the spawn egg on the ground to place a Sniffet.

3. Hold Torchflower Seeds and use them on Sniffet to attract, heal, feed, or breed it.

4. Watch an adult Sniffet sniff, search nearby soil, and dig up items.

5. To summon one with commands, use:

   /summon com_sniffet_izflqdhg:mysniffer
   

Sniffet is a peaceful, persistent creature with a fresh appearance inspired by the Sniffer.

Overview

Sniffet explores the world, periodically scents its surroundings, and searches for suitable ground to dig. It can be found naturally in Overworld plains or placed directly with its spawn egg.

Adults can breed using Torchflower Seeds, while babies grow over time and can also be fed those seeds.

How To Use

Finding Sniffet

Sniffet can naturally spawn:

• On the surface
• In Overworld plains biomes
• At light levels from 9 through 15
• In groups of 1–2

Natural spawns are adults most of the time, although a small number can appear as babies.

Using the Spawn Egg

The Creative inventory contains Sniffet Spawn Egg. Select it and use it on a suitable location to create Sniffet immediately.

Using Torchflower Seeds

Torchflower Seeds are Sniffet’s main food. Hold the seeds and use them on Sniffet to:

• Attract it while holding the seeds
• Heal it by 2 health points
• Help a baby grow
• Breed two adults

Sniffet can also be named with a Name Tag.

Observing Sniffet

Adult Sniffets wander around and occasionally begin scenting. They can then search nearby ground and dig in blocks such as:

• Dirt
• Coarse Dirt
• Grass Blocks
• Podzol
• Dirt With Roots
• Moss Blocks
• Pale Moss Blocks
• Mud
• Muddy Mangrove Roots

Give Sniffet room to roam if you want to watch it search and dig. It may take several seconds to finish digging, and a successful search causes it to celebrate briefly before standing up again.

Abilities And Mechanics

Scenting and Digging

Only adult Sniffets search and dig. An adult periodically scents the area, then searches within roughly 20 blocks horizontally and 3 blocks vertically for suitable ground.

During a dig:

• Sniffet focuses on the search instead of wandering
• It temporarily cannot be pushed
• A successful dig uncovers an item
• A failed search or dig ends the attempt

Babies do not perform the search-and-dig behavior.

Health and Movement

Sniffet panics when hurt and moves faster while fleeing.

Breeding and Babies

Feed Torchflower Seeds to two adult Sniffets to breed them. The breeding process produces a Sniffer Egg.

Baby Sniffets are much smaller than adults and grow into adults over time. Feeding a baby Torchflower Seeds helps it grow.

Balloons

Sniffet can be attached to a balloon, allowing it to be lifted and moved through the air.

Crafting And Obtaining

Sniffet has no custom crafting recipe.

The available ways to obtain it are:

• Find it naturally in Overworld plains
• Use Sniffet Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory
• Summon it with com_sniffet_izflqdhg:mysniffer

When a player kills Sniffet, it can drop the following:

Looting can increase the amount of an item dropped. Player-killed Sniffets can also provide 1–3 experience points.

Progression And Strategy

• Bring Torchflower Seeds when exploring with Sniffet so you can keep it nearby and heal it.
• Build a safe enclosure with plenty of dirt, moss, mud, or other valid digging blocks.
• Leave open space around the enclosure so adult Sniffets can search naturally.
• Keep Sniffet away from lava, since it takes continuous damage there.
• Use two adults and Torchflower Seeds to produce Sniffer Eggs.
• Name important Sniffets with Name Tags so you can identify them in larger groups.
