Snifferback Crossbowman

Quickstart

• Creative: Find the Snifferback Crossbowman Spawn Egg in your inventory and use it on the ground to spawn one.
• With commands: Run /summon com_snifferback_crossbowman_tf3vbkkf:mycustom.
• Survival: Look for them on the surface of dark plains in Normal or Hard difficulty. They spawn in groups of one or two.
• Give a spawned crossbowman room to move, then approach with care: it targets players and shoots arrows when it has a clear shot.

Overview

The Snifferback Crossbowman is a hostile illager with 28 health (14 hearts). It hunts players, villagers, and iron golems, and may try to mount a nearby Sniffer. If it cannot mount one, it continues on foot.

What It Adds

One hostile mob and its spawn egg. There are no custom crafting recipes.

How To Use

Use the spawn egg on a block to place the mob in the world. In survival, it can spawn naturally on the surface in plains when the light level is low, on Normal or Hard difficulty.

The crossbowman looks for nearby targets it can see and fires arrows at them. It can target players, villagers, and iron golems. It also periodically attempts to mount a Sniffer close by; if the Sniffer cannot be mounted, the crossbowman stays on foot.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Ranged attack: Fires arrows at targets when it has a clear line of sight. Blocking its view with terrain can prevent a shot.
• Sniffer mounting: Tries to mount a nearby Sniffer, but mounting may not succeed.
• Durability: Has 28 health, so expect it to take several hits before going down.

Drops

A defeated crossbowman can drop leather and arrows. A player kill can also yield a damaged crossbow, moss block, or emerald; Looting can improve the chances or amounts of drops.
