Smiffer

Quickstart

1. Open the Creative inventory and go to the Spawn Eggs tab.

2. Select the Smiffer spawn egg.

3. Use the egg on the ground to spawn a Smiffer.

4. Lead it near hostile mobs and watch it pursue them. The Smiffer attacks hostile mobs with melee strikes and can help defend your base.

5. You can also summon one with:

   /summon smiffer-yudncy4t:smiffer_yudncy4t
   

The Smiffer has no crafting recipe. It can also appear naturally in the Overworld.

Overview

The Smiffer is a sniffer-shaped guardian that actively hunts hostile mobs. It wanders through the world until it detects a hostile target, then follows and attacks it.

Smiffers are peaceful toward players and non-hostile creatures. They are intended to patrol areas and fight hostile mobs rather than attack everything nearby.

How To Use

Spawning a Smiffer

In Creative mode, use the Smiffer spawn egg on a block to place a Smiffer. The egg can be found in the Spawn Eggs item group.

For commands, use:

/give @s smiffer-yudncy4t:smiffer_yudncy4t_spawn_egg

You can also spawn the mob directly:

/summon smiffer-yudncy4t:smiffer_yudncy4t

Setting Up a Patrol Area

Place Smiffers around a base, village, or other area that needs protection. They roam around on their own and look for hostile mobs within their detection range.

Smiffers are most useful when positioned near areas where hostile mobs commonly appear, such as dark surroundings, caves, and the edges of an outdoor settlement.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Hostile-mob targeting: Smiffers seek out hostile mobs and attack them automatically.
• Melee attack: Each attack deals 8 damage, equal to 4 hearts, before armor and other reductions.
• Health: A Smiffer has 30 health, or 15 hearts.
• Detection range: It can search for hostile targets from up to 32 blocks away.
• Movement: It moves at a steady speed while wandering or pursuing a target.
• Knockback resistance: Smiffers resist some knockback, helping them stay in combat.
• Swimming: Smiffers can swim rather than immediately becoming stuck in water.
• Experience: A Smiffer awards 8 experience points when killed by a player or other qualifying source.

The Smiffer does not target players or peaceful creatures. It focuses its attacks on mobs classified as hostile.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the Smiffer or its spawn egg.

You can obtain a Smiffer by:

• Finding one that spawned naturally in the Overworld
• Using a Smiffer spawn egg in Creative mode
• Using the Smiffer summon command

Natural spawning uses the creature category and can produce groups of 1 to 6 Smiffers.

Progression And Strategy

• Spawn a Smiffer near your base before nightfall to test its patrol behavior.
• Use several Smiffers to cover a larger area or to handle groups of hostile mobs.
• Keep patrol areas reasonably close together so Smiffers can detect threats within their 32-block range.
• Use lighting and walls alongside Smiffers for stronger base protection.
• Avoid placing them where terrain, fences, or water channels prevent them from reaching hostile targets.
