Skystrike VTOL

Quickstart

1. Open your crafting table — the recipe is already unlocked in your recipe book. Craft the Skystrike VTOL using the recipe below:

1. Place the item on the ground. It automatically assembles as a large multi-block F-35B-style jet.
2. Right-click the jet to mount it. The camera switches to third-person automatically.
3. You start in VTOL mode — use Space to rise, Shift to descend, and WASD to move horizontally.
4. Press V to switch to fixed-wing Flight mode, then steer with your mouse and adjust speed with W/S.
5. Press Ctrl (Sprint key) to dismount and reassemble the jet as a placeable block.

Overview

The Skystrike VTOL is a rideable combat aircraft inspired by the F-35B. It spawns as a large structure in the world and can be piloted in two distinct flight modes. It comes equipped with three weapons and a heads-up display showing your speed, altitude, flight mode, and weapon status.

How To Use

Mounting and Dismounting

Right-click any part of the placed jet to board it. You become invisible while piloting. Press Ctrl (the Sprint key) to exit the jet.

Flight Modes

In Flight mode, the jet moves in the direction you look. Speed is shown as a numeric value in the HUD; in VTOL mode it displays as HOVER.

Weapons

Press R to cycle through the three weapons. Fire the active weapon with Right-Click.

Each weapon has its own cooldown, which is visible in the HUD.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is automatically unlocked for all players when they join the world, so it will always appear in your recipe book.

The craft yields one Skystrike VTOL item. Place it on any flat ground to deploy the full multi-block structure.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Multi-block structure: The jet occupies a large footprint when placed. All blocks are part of the same vehicle.
• Rotation on placement: The jet faces you when placed, orienting its nose toward the player.
• Player invisibility: Your player model is hidden while piloting so it does not clip through the aircraft.
• Third-person camera: Automatically switches to third-person view on mount and restores your previous perspective on dismount.
• Engine sound: A VTOL engine sound plays while the jet is in use.
• No gravity: The jet hovers in place when no inputs are given in VTOL mode.

Progression And Strategy

• Start in VTOL mode to take off vertically from confined spaces, then press V to transition to faster fixed-wing Flight mode once airborne.
• Use the Gun for quick, repeated attacks on mobs. Switch to Missiles for heavier targets. The Bomb is ideal for area denial directly below your flight path — be sure you have enough altitude before dropping it.
• Monitor the HUD at the top of your screen to track weapon cooldowns so you always know when your next shot is ready.
• In Flight mode, throttle down with S before attempting to land or switch back to VTOL mode for a controlled vertical descent.
