Quickstart

1. Open your crafting table — the recipe is unlocked automatically when you join the world.
2. Craft the Skystrike Tomcat item:

1. Place the item as a block anywhere in the world. The full F-14 multiblock structure assembles automatically around the placed block, oriented to face you.
2. Right-click the jet to mount it. Your camera switches to third-person automatically.
3. Press W to build throttle and take off. Use your mouse to steer.
4. Press Ctrl to exit and leave the jet parked. Right-click it again to re-mount.

Overview

Skystrike Tomcat adds a flyable, weapon-equipped F-14 Tomcat fighter jet to Minecraft. It is built as a large multiblock structure and becomes a rideable vehicle entity the moment you right-click it. You pilot it in real time, fire three different weapon types, and toggle its variable sweep-wing geometry — all while a HUD keeps you informed of flight status.

How To Use

Mounting & Dismounting

• Right-click any part of the placed jet to mount it (only one rider at a time).
• Shift (Sneak) will not dismount you — this is intentional so you don't accidentally bail out.
• Press Ctrl to exit cleanly. The jet stays in the world exactly where you left it and can be re-mounted at any time.

Flying

The jet emits exhaust smoke from its tail while a pilot is aboard.

Weapons

Press R to cycle through three weapon modes, then Right-click to fire.

The current weapon mode is always shown on the HUD.

Wing Sweep

Press G to toggle between OPEN (standard) and SWEPT wing configurations. Wing state is displayed on the HUD and visually changes the jet's silhouette.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Skystrike Tomcat recipe is automatically unlocked in your recipe book the first time you join a world. Craft it at a standard crafting table:

Ingredients at a glance: Firework Rockets, an Iron Block, Gunpowder, a Netherite Ingot, Elytra, and TNT.

Place the crafted item on the ground to build the jet. The structure occupies a roughly 6×6×6 area, so make sure you have enough open space.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Multiblock assembly — placing the single item automatically constructs the entire jet structure around it, rotated to face you.
• Automatic camera — mounting switches you to third-person view; dismounting restores your previous perspective.
• Persistent vehicle — the jet remains as a physical entity in the world after you exit. It can be damaged and destroyed, so park somewhere safe.
• Player invisibility — while piloting, your player model is hidden inside the jet for a clean visual.
• HUD modes — in third-person a compact info bar appears at the top of the screen; a full cockpit HUD is displayed in first-person view.

Progression And Strategy

• Early flight: Start with GUN mode for quick harassment of mobs along your flight path — arrows fire rapidly and require no special materials.
• Aerial bombardment: Switch to BOMB mode at altitude to drop fireballs on targets below. Line up your approach and time the release.
• Precision strikes: MISSILE mode fires a fireball directly forward; use it for head-on engagements against stationary targets or structures.
• Wing sweep: SWEPT wings are purely cosmetic/aesthetic at this stage, but toggling them lets you roleplay different flight phases (cruise vs. high-speed intercept).
• Safe parking: The jet can be destroyed by damage, so land it away from mobs or other hazards when not in use. You can always craft another if it is lost.
