Skyfire Barrage

Quickstart

1. Craft a Skyfire Core, then use it to craft either a Nuke Shot or a Stab Shot.
2. Craft an Orbital Designator.
3. Hold the Orbital Designator, choose a mode with /skyfire mode nuke or /skyfire mode stab, then right-click a block to call down a strike.
4. Watch the sky — a rising pling sound warns you before the strike lands. Get clear of the target area!

Overview

Skyfire Barrage lets you call down orbital strikes without building cannons or stasis chambers. Point an Orbital Designator at the ground, choose whether you want a massive explosive nuke or a precise vertical drill strike, and trigger it. Each type of strike consumes limited-use "rods" that wear out after a handful of shots, so you'll need to keep crafting more to keep the barrage going.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Equip the Orbital Designator in your main hand (or offhand).
• Set the mode with the command /skyfire mode <nuke|stab> while holding the designator. The item's name updates to show the active mode ([NUKE] or [STAB]).
• Aim and trigger by right-clicking a targeted block. This starts a countdown before the strike lands — you'll hear a rising-pitch pling sound as it approaches.
• Nuke mode creates a very wide blast centered on the target, capable of leveling large areas.
• Stab mode creates a narrow, tightly spaced column of blasts that punches straight down from the target point, ideal for quickly digging a shaft.
• Each strike consumes durability on the Nuke Shot or Stab Shot rod equipped for that mode — the rods only last for a handful of uses before breaking, so plan your strikes and keep spares on hand.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Two strike types: Nuke Shot produces an enormous single explosion; Stab Shot produces a tight line of smaller blasts that bore straight down, great for clearing shafts to bedrock.
• Limited-use rods: Both rod types have very limited durability, so each rod only supports a small number of strikes before it's used up. Keep a supply of Skyfire Cores on hand to restock.
• Delayed impact: Strikes don't happen instantly — there's a short delay with audible warning sounds, giving you (and anything nearby) time to move before impact.
• Mode switching: The Orbital Designator itself never breaks and can be reused indefinitely; only the shots you fire through it are consumable.

Progression And Strategy

Start by crafting a Skyfire Core and a batch of Stab Shots for controlled digging or mining projects, since their narrow blast radius limits collateral damage. Save Nuke Shots for large-scale terraforming, clearing out big structures, or dramatic effect, since their blast radius is substantial and can affect a wide area. Because rods wear out quickly, keep a steady supply of Skyfire Cores crafted and ready so you're never caught without ammunition mid-project.
