- Place the Skybound Flood Machine on a clear patch of ground. It assembles into a large, three-block-tall structure around the placement point and begins automatically.
- Move away and watch it launch skyward. No button, redstone signal, or additional interaction is required.
- After reaching Y=319, it creates an expanding water-and-prismarine platform high above the original placement location.

Overview
The Skybound Flood Machine is a one-use trigger block that launches a mysterious machine into the sky before producing a large flood from above. The launch and flood begin immediately when the item is placed.
The original placement block disappears as the machine assembles, so the item does not remain as a normal single block.
What It Adds
- The Skybound Flood Machine item
- A multiblock machine structure that assembles when placed
- An automatic skyward launch
- An overhead water layer that expands in stages
- A prismarine foundation beneath the flood area
How To Use
Placement
Place the machine on a clear area with room for its structure. It occupies a roughly 3×3 footprint and extends three blocks upward. Its orientation follows the direction in which it is placed.
The machine activates as soon as placement is complete. There is no separate activation control.
Launch
After assembling, the machine rises in stages toward Y=319. Keep clear of the structure and allow a few moments for the launch sequence to finish.
Flood
When the machine reaches the top of its flight path, it begins flooding the area centered over the original placement position. The flood expands outward in square stages until it reaches a maximum radius of 16 blocks, covering up to a 33×33 area.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the machine at a crafting table using:
- 4 iron blocks
- 1 water bucket
- 2 redstone
- 1 piston
- 1 glass
The item is also available in the Creative inventory under the Items category.
Abilities And Mechanics
- The launch is automatic and starts on placement.
- The machine rises to Y=319 before activating its flood.
- Water is placed at Y=318 in expanding square areas.
- Prismarine is placed at Y=317 beneath the water.
- The flood and prismarine foundation replace air only. Existing non-air blocks at those heights are not replaced.
- The completed flood reaches a radius of 16 blocks around the launch point.
- The temporary launch sequence cleans itself up after the flood finishes.
- The assembled machine pieces can be mined, and they are vulnerable to explosions.
Progression And Strategy
The machine has no upgrade path or secondary controls. Its challenge comes from choosing where to deploy it.
- Test it in a flat, isolated area before using it near valuable builds.
- Leave plenty of space around the placement point for the assembled structure.
- Mark the launch location so you can find the center of the overhead flood later.
- Use the machine over an area where a high-altitude water-and-prismarine platform is useful or entertaining.
- Do not place it directly over important builds unless you are prepared for the resulting overhead water structure.
