Description
Keep your loot, survive floating islands, and escape the deadly night Skalker chase.
Mod Wiki
Skalker Isle
Quickstart
- Join the world. You’ll be put in Survival on a sky isle, with a starter chest and one Isle Coin. Open the chest for building blocks and wooden tools.
- Build outward to explore the tree-covered resource islands. Their chests contain supplies, and ore is exposed beneath the ground.
- Watch for nightfall: a Skalker appears on its nearby isle and hunts players. Keep blocks handy to cross gaps or get back to safety.
- Find an Isle Trader to exchange coins for sparks. Right-click a Skalker with a Blue Spark to freeze it, or use a Red Spark to awaken a more dangerous form.
Falling into the void kills you, but you keep your inventory and respawn on a sky isle.
Overview
Skalker Isle is a shared Survival challenge across floating islands. Players explore for wood, food, and ore, trade for special items, and survive the Skalker’s night hunts. New arrivals may share an existing player’s isle.
The game keeps inventory on death and disables normal mob spawning in the overworld. The Skalker encounter is separate from ordinary mob spawning.
What It Adds
- Sky isles: Starter islands, tree-and-ore resource islands, a Skalker isle, and trader isles.
- Isle Coin: The mod’s trading currency.
- Sparks: Blue and Red Sparks affect a regular Skalker; a Green Sparker can remove an Awakened Skalker.
- Skalkers: A night-hunting enemy and its stronger Awakened form.
How To Use
Exploring and surviving
Resource islands have different tree types and ores, including coal, iron, gold, copper, diamond, emerald, redstone, and lapis. Their chests include bread, torches, wood, leaves, a stone pickaxe, and ore.
The Skalker isle is near the starting area at approximately (24, 100, 24). Trader isles are farther away: the Blue/Green Spark trader is near (512, 100, 0), and the Red Spark trader is near (640, 100, 0). Use your coordinates to navigate between them.
If you fall below the islands, you’ll die and respawn on your starting isle with your inventory. Deaths from other causes also return you to an isle.
Asking for help
Use /help <player> to ask another player for a rescue. They can respond with /help yes to teleport you to them, restore your health, and give you brief protection, or /help no to decline. Requests expire after about a minute. A player who accepts earns an Isle Coin.
You can also hold an item and right-click another player to give them one of that item and earn a coin.
Obtaining and Trading
You receive a coin when you start. Earn more by helping other players, then right-click an Isle Trader to trade. Both traders are named Isle Trader.
| Trade | Cost |
|---|---|
| Blue Spark from the Blue/Green Spark trader | 10 Isle Coins |
| Green Sparker from the Blue/Green Spark trader while sneaking | 40 Isle Coins |
| Red Spark from the Red Spark trader | 10 Isle Coins |
Check your balance with /trade coins or /skalker coins. The custom items are obtained through the starter chest, helping players, or traders; no crafting recipes are provided for them.
Abilities and Mechanics
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Blue Spark | Right-click a regular Skalker to freeze it for 10 seconds. |
| Red Spark | Right-click a regular Skalker to transform it into an Awakened Skalker. |
| Green Sparker | Right-click an Awakened Skalker to remove it. |
Each use consumes the item. The Awakened Skalker is faster and hits harder, so use a Red Spark only if you’re ready for a tougher chase.
At night, a Skalker seeks nearby players and lays purple wool along its route toward them. It cannot teleport. A regular Skalker stops targeting players and won’t attack during the day. When neither Skalker form is present during the night, another encounter can begin.
Progression and Strategy
- Take tools and building materials from your starter chest before crossing the void.
- Loot resource-island chests and gather ore to expand your supplies.
- Keep a Blue Spark for an emergency pause during a chase.
- Save Green Sparker for an Awakened Skalker; a Red Spark makes the encounter more dangerous.
- Travel with other players when possible: help requests can rescue stranded players and reward the helper with a coin.
