Description
Simple Tech adds an energy-powered automation system, advanced tools and armor, Technology Ore, a new biome, and ore-themed sheep.
The main automation loop is:
Coal Generator → Energy Cables → Machines
Machines store their own energy and display both energy and work progress in their GUIs. Item Cables move finished products into chests and other inventories.
| Category | Content |
|---|---|
| Machines | Wood Farm, Stone Generator, Growth Pot, Coal Generator, Energy Battery |
| Transport | Energy Cable and Item Cable |

| Equipment | Technology Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe, Sword, and Magic Technology Staff |
| Armor | Super Tech Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots |
| Resources | Technology Ore, Technology Nugget, Technology Ingot, Upgraded Netherite Ingot |
| Exploration | Technological Mountains biome and Technological Village |
| Other items | Technology Compass, Ore Sheep Spawn Egg |
| Building blocks | Tech Log, Tech Planks, Tech Leaves, Tech Sapling |
Energy Cables form a connected network when placed next to one another. They connect to:
Energy flows from a generator or battery to machines that have room in their energy storage. A cable network can power several machines at once.
Energy Cables only transport energy. Use Item Cables separately to transport machine outputs.
Item Cables connect to Wood Farms, Stone Generators, Growth Pots, chests, and other inventories. A machine can also output directly into an adjacent inventory without a cable.
Use a connected chest or other inventory as the machine’s output destination. Item Cables can also pull finished items from a machine’s output slots and move them through the cable network.
Machines pause production when:
The Wood Farm requires only energy. It produces oak logs over time and stores them in its output slot until they are collected or transferred through an Item Cable.
Its base operation uses:
The Wood Farm has no fuel or planting slot. Power it with an Energy Cable and connect its output to a chest if you want continuous collection.
The Stone Generator creates stone when it detects water and lava on opposite sides.
Place the fluids in one of these arrangements:
The fluids are not consumed.
Its base operation uses:
Stone is stored internally or sent to an adjacent or cable-connected inventory.
The Growth Pot uses dirt and a plant item to produce crops, logs, and occasional bonus items. Place the inputs in its GUI:
The inputs remain in the machine and are used repeatedly. The base operation uses:
Supported tree inputs include oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia, dark oak, cherry, and mangrove saplings or propagules.
| Plant input | Main output | Possible additional output |
|---|---|---|
| Oak Sapling | 4 Oak Logs | Oak Sapling and Apples |
| Birch Sapling | 4 Birch Logs | Birch Sapling |
| Spruce Sapling | 4 Spruce Logs | Spruce Sapling |
| Jungle Sapling | 4 Jungle Logs | Jungle Sapling and Cocoa Beans |
| Acacia Sapling | 4 Acacia Logs | Acacia Sapling |
| Dark Oak Sapling | 4 Dark Oak Logs | Dark Oak Sapling and Apples |
| Cherry Sapling | 4 Cherry Logs | Cherry Sapling |
| Mangrove Propagule | 4 Mangrove Logs | Mangrove Propagule |
| Wheat Seeds | 1 Wheat | 1–3 Wheat Seeds |
| Beetroot Seeds | 1 Beetroot | 1–3 Beetroot Seeds |
| Pumpkin Seeds | 1 Pumpkin | — |
| Melon Seeds | 3–7 Melon Slices | — |
| Carrot | 2–4 Carrots | — |
| Potato | 2–4 Potatoes | Poisonous Potato |
Random bonus chances apply to saplings, apples, cocoa beans, seeds, and poisonous potatoes. Keep all three output slots clear when producing multiple output types.
The Coal Generator is the basic energy source.
The generator stores up to 10,000 E. It stops accepting fuel when its energy storage is full.
The Energy Battery stores up to 1,000,000 E and can distribute that energy through Energy Cables.
To charge and use it:
The battery automatically transfers energy to the armor piece. Armor energy and battery energy are shown in the GUI.
Each machine can hold one upgrade of each type. Hold Shift and right-click the machine with the upgrade in your main hand.
| Upgrade | Effect |
|---|---|
| Speed Upgrade | Reduces the time needed for each production cycle |
| Energy Upgrade | Increases the machine’s energy capacity and reduces energy cost |
| 2x Items Upgrade | Doubles the machine’s normal output |
Upgrades are consumed when applied in Survival mode. A machine will not accept a second upgrade of the same type.
The machine’s block appearance indicates when it has an upgrade, while the GUI shows the resulting energy and progress values.

Technology Ore generates underground in the Technological Mountains biome, from Y -64 through Y 16. It requires a diamond-level or better tool to mine.
Technology tools are made by smithing the matching Netherite tool with a Technology Ingot and a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template.
Technology tools have 4,096 durability, extremely high mining speed, and mining level 4. They can be enchanted and repaired with Technology Ingots or Upgraded Netherite Ingots.
Craft the Magic Technology Staff by combining one each of the five Technology tools with .
The staff combines the functions of a sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe. It can be enchanted and can mine blocks handled by all five tool types.
The Technology armor set consists of:
Each armor piece stores up to 1,000,000 E. Place a piece in an Energy Battery to charge it. The item tooltip displays its current energy, and a fully charged piece has an enchanted glint.
Wear all four pieces at once to receive:
Right-click blocks with the matching Technology tool or with the Magic Technology Staff to perform normal tool interactions.
Left-click with the staff to attack or mine blocks.
Craft a Technology Compass with .
Hold it in your main hand or off-hand. The compass periodically displays the coordinates of the nearest Technology Ore in the action bar when one is within 96 blocks. If no ore is within range, it displays a message saying so.
The Technological Mountains biome contains Technology Ore and Tech Trees. Search underground between Y -64 and Y 16 for the ore, or use the Technology Compass when you are near a deposit.
Technological Villages can generate in the Technological Mountains. They contain Tech Planks, Tech Logs, stone structures, paths, and villagers with technology-themed names, including:
Ore Sheep spawn naturally in the Overworld and can also be spawned from the Ore Sheep Spawn Egg in the Creative inventory.
Each Ore Sheep has a random ore variant. Its fleece color reflects the represented ore. Shear one with shears to obtain normal sheep drops along with 1–2 blocks of its represented ore.
