Shadow Chorus Blaze
Quickstart
- In Creative mode, open the item menu and search for Shadow Chorus Blaze Spawn Egg.
- Use the spawn egg in a dark area of the End, or summon one with:
/summon com_shadow_chorus_blaze_czoqhx47:myblaze
- Hold a chorus fruit and use it on the Shadow Chorus Blaze to tame it. Taming is guaranteed when the correct item is used.
- After taming, it becomes a loyal companion that follows you and attacks mobs that hurt you or that you attack.
Overview
The Shadow Chorus Blaze is a dark purple blaze-like monster and tameable companion. Wild Shadow Chorus Blazes are hostile, use small fireballs at range, and switch to melee attacks when their target gets close.
A tamed Shadow Chorus Blaze follows its owner, can teleport to catch up, and protects its owner in combat.

- Shadow Chorus Blaze Spawn Egg
- Taming with chorus fruit

How To Use
Finding and Spawning
Shadow Chorus Blazes naturally spawn in the End when:
- The difficulty is Easy, Normal, or Hard
- The light level is 0–7
- The location is on the End's surface
- Groups of 1–2 mobs are generated
For immediate testing, use the Shadow Chorus Blaze Spawn Egg in Creative mode or run:
/summon com_shadow_chorus_blaze_czoqhx47:myblaze
Taming
Hold a chorus fruit and use it on a wild Shadow Chorus Blaze. Once tamed, it changes from a hostile monster into your companion.
You can name it with a name tag.
Companion Behavior
A tamed Shadow Chorus Blaze:
- Follows its owner when the owner moves away
- Teleports to the owner when necessary
- Attacks mobs that hurt its owner
- Attacks mobs that its owner attacks
- Uses melee attacks for 6 damage
There is no sitting or stay command behavior, so plan its location carefully when leaving it near a base or danger.
Abilities And Mechanics
Wild Combat
A wild Shadow Chorus Blaze can target visible players, golems, and monsters.
- At more than 3 blocks from its target, it uses ranged attacks.
- Its ranged attack fires bursts of 3 small fireballs.
- Ranged attacks can reach targets up to 48 blocks away.
- At very close range, it switches to melee combat.
- Its melee attack deals 6 damage.
Tamed Combat
Taming removes its hostile targeting and ranged attack behavior. The tamed mob instead uses melee attacks while defending its owner.
It reacts to nearby mobs within 32 blocks when it can see them, including mobs that attack its owner or are attacked by its owner.
Survivability
- Health: 20 points
- Immune to fire
- Takes 1 damage per tick while in contact with water
- Takes no fall damage
- Can climb
- Floats and avoids water while navigating
Crafting And Obtaining
The Shadow Chorus Blaze is not obtained through a custom crafting recipe. Use its Creative-mode spawn egg, find it naturally in the End, or summon it directly.
When killed by a player or a tamed pet, it can drop:
| Drop | Quantity and chance |
|---|
| Blaze rod | 0–1 |
| Chorus fruit | 1–2, with a 20% chance |
| Echo shard | 1, with a 5% chance |
Looting can affect the applicable drop rolls and quantities. A Shadow Chorus Blaze also gives 10 experience points when its death is credited to a player.
Progression And Strategy
- Search dark End areas for wild Shadow Chorus Blazes, or use a spawn egg to begin safely.
- Bring chorus fruit so you can tame one as soon as you find it.
- Tame the mob before using it around a base; wild Shadow Chorus Blazes attack players, golems, and monsters.
- Keep your companion away from water, since water damages it continuously.
- Use the companion as a close-range bodyguard: attack a target yourself, or let the mob respond when an enemy attacks you.
- Take advantage of its fire immunity when fighting around flames or lava, but remember that its ranged fireball behavior is only available while it is wild.
