Quickstart

1. Craft a Rift Tuner at a crafting table from an ender eye, an echo shard, and three obsidian. Use it and choose Enter Sculkbound Realm.
2. Explore the Realm for its sculk terrain and the rare Sculkbound Stalker. Use the tuner again inside to choose Return home.
3. Craft a Sculkwing Elytra from a vanilla elytra and four phantom membranes. Equip it in your chest slot, jump from a height, and look where you want to fly: it pushes you forward while you’re airborne, without rockets.
4. Craft a Mindlink Scepter from an echo shard and two sticks. Hit a creature, then look in the direction you want it to move.

Overview

Sculkbound Skies centers on exploration of the Sculkbound Realm, a dark, sculk-themed dimension. Its rare Stalker is dangerous but can drop a wide variety of useful loot. Three special items let you travel to the Realm, direct creatures, and fly with extra propulsion.

How To Use

Rift Tuner

Use the tuner to open its travel menu. From the Overworld, select Enter Sculkbound Realm; while in the Realm, select Return home. Choose Cancel to close the menu. Returning takes you to the Overworld spawn.

Mindlink Scepter

Hit a creature with the scepter to control it for about 20 seconds. Look in the direction you want it to move. The effect works only on non-player creatures, and hitting another creature replaces your current target. The scepter has a 12-second cooldown.

Sculkwing Elytra

Wear the Sculkwing Elytra in your chest slot and get airborne. While you’re in the air, it automatically grants Slow Falling and nudges you forward in the direction you face. It has 650 durability.

Sculkbound Stalker

The Stalker is a rare resident of the Realm, not an Overworld spawn. Use a Sculkbound Stalker Spawn Egg to summon one where you choose. It is highly durable, can inflict Darkness nearby, and attacks with melee strikes and a long-range sonic boom.

Each Stalker kill gives two random drops from a weighted pool. Possible loot includes minerals and valuables, food and survival items, weapons, firework rockets, and the Mindlink Scepter, Sculkwing Elytra, and Rift Tuner. No particular drop is guaranteed.

Sculk Blocks

Sculk Turf, Echo Stone, and Deep Sculkstone drop themselves when mined. Use a shovel for Sculk Turf and a pickaxe for the two stone blocks.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft these items at a crafting table:

Mindlink Scepter — one echo shard and two sticks.

Rift Tuner — one ender eye, one echo shard, and three obsidian.

Sculkwing Elytra — one elytra and four phantom membranes.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Realm travel: The tuner’s menu changes its travel option based on whether you’re inside the Realm or in the Overworld.
• Creature control: The scepter’s control is temporary. Stay within range and in the same dimension as your target to guide it.
• Rocket-free flight: The Sculkwing’s thrust and Slow Falling apply while you’re airborne; aim your view to steer.
• Stalker awareness and attacks: The Stalker reacts to vibrations and suspicious locations. It can pursue targets, use melee attacks, and unleash a sonic boom.

Progression And Strategy

Craft the Rift Tuner first so you can reach the Realm. Explore carefully: a Stalker can be a tough fight, but its varied drops may provide valuable gear and even the mod’s special items. Once you have an elytra and phantom membranes, craft the Sculkwing for rocket-free flight; use the Mindlink Scepter when you want to steer a creature temporarily.
