Scale Shifter

Quickstart

1. Craft the Scale Shifter:

1. Hold it in your main or off hand and use it to open the scale selector. Choose a size; your player changes size immediately.
2. Try 1 for normal size, 0.15 for tiny, or 6 for huge. The selector has two pages of choices.
3. For extra size-based abilities, craft and use an Ability Shifter. Craft an Entity Shifter to temporarily change the size of living creatures you look at.

Overview

Scale Shifter lets you resize your player, then use that size to explore and move around the world differently. The scale selector offers sizes from 0.15 to 6, with 1 as standard size.

What It Adds

• Scale Shifter: Opens the size selector.
• Ability Shifter: Toggles size-based movement, jumping, and area mining on or off.
• Entity Shifter: Temporarily changes the size of a living target in your line of sight.

How To Use

Use the Scale Shifter while holding it in either hand, then click a size in the selector. The menu closes after you choose.

Use the Ability Shifter to turn size abilities on or off. An on-screen message confirms their status. The abilities apply according to your current size; you don’t need to hold the Ability Shifter for them to work.

To use the Entity Shifter, aim at a living creature and use the item. It can reach targets up to 24 blocks away, but a solid block in the way prevents targeting. The item reports when there’s no target in range or when a target cannot be shifted.

Abilities And Mechanics

With size abilities enabled:

• Movement speed and jumping scale with your size. Smaller sizes move and jump less; larger sizes gain stronger movement and jumps.
• Area mining activates at size 2 or larger. Breaking a block also breaks nearby mineable blocks in a patch around it, up to a 6×6 area. Blocks you cannot interact with are left alone.

The Entity Shifter changes its target toward your current size for 30 seconds. If you and the target are both at standard size, it shifts the target to size 2 instead. Once the shift ends, that target must stabilize for another 60 seconds before it can be shifted again.

Progression And Strategy

Start with the Scale Shifter and try different sizes to see how they affect your exploration. Add the Ability Shifter when you want size-based movement, jumping, and area mining. Use the Entity Shifter to give nearby living creatures a temporary size change.
