Ritual Password Chest

Quickstart

1. Craft a Ritual Password Chest at a crafting table.

1. Place the chest where you want to store items.
2. Interact with it while staying within 10 blocks. The first interaction opens the Bind Ritual Password screen.
3. Create a password between 4 and 64 characters, then remember it.
4. Kill a villager or sheep within 10 blocks of the chest. You must deal the killing blow yourself, including through a projectile you fired.
5. Interact with the chest again, choose Enter password, and enter the password.
6. Select a storage slot in the ritual interface. Empty slots take the complete item stack from your selected hotbar slot.

Overview

The Ritual Password Chest is a 27-slot storage chest protected by both:

• A password
• A nearby blood sacrifice

It does not open like a normal chest. Interacting with it always displays a ritual menu or password screen first.

Each placed chest has its own password. The player who creates the first password becomes the chest’s owner.

How To Use

First-Time Setup

When a newly placed chest is opened:

1. Enter a password containing 4–64 characters.
2. The password is bound to that chest, and you become its owner.
3. If the chest has not received a sacrifice, the interface tells you to kill a villager or sheep nearby.
4. After the sacrifice, interact with the chest again and enter the password.

Creating the password does not open the chest by itself. The sacrifice is also required.

Opening the Chest

For a configured chest:

1. Interact with it within 10 blocks.
2. Choose Enter password.
3. Enter the exact password.
4. If a valid sacrifice is ready, the storage interface opens.
5. Select a slot to deposit or withdraw items.

Stay within 10 blocks while completing the interaction.

Storing Items

The storage screen displays 27 numbered slots.

• Select an empty slot while holding an item stack in your selected hotbar slot.
• The entire stack is moved into that chest slot.
• If the selected hotbar slot is empty, nothing is stored.

Withdrawing Items

• Select an occupied slot to move its full stack into your inventory.
• Your inventory must have room for the stack.
• If your inventory is full, the item remains in the chest.

After selecting a storage slot, the sacrifice is accepted and consumed for that opening session. Further storage actions in the same session do not require another sacrifice.

Closing the Interface

Choose Close or cancel the screen to end the session. A sacrifice is preserved if the storage interface closes before you select a storage slot.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the chest at a crafting table using:

• 4 obsidian
• 2 gold ingots
• 2 redstone
• 1 chest

The crafted Ritual Password Chest item can stack up to 16. Place it to create the protected storage block.

Abilities And Mechanics

Sacrifice Rules

A qualifying sacrifice must meet all of these conditions:

• The dead creature is a villager or sheep.
• It dies within 10 blocks of the chest.
• You are responsible for the kill.
• The kill occurs in the same dimension as the chest.

A single qualifying kill can ready Ritual Password Chests within 10 blocks of the death location.

Owner Actions

After a chest has a password, its owner sees three menu choices:

• Enter password — attempt to open the storage interface.
• Reset password — create a new 4–64 character password.
• Dismantle and recover — remove the placed chest after confirmation.

Only the player who originally bound the password can reset or dismantle the chest.

Dismantling

To dismantle a chest:

1. Interact with it as the owner.
2. Choose Dismantle and recover.
3. Type DISMANTLE in the confirmation field.
4. Confirm the action.

The placed block is removed, the Ritual Password Chest item is returned, and stored contents are dropped at the chest’s location.

The chest can also be broken normally. Its stored contents are recovered as drops, so a password alone should not be treated as protection against players who can physically reach and break the block.

Progression And Strategy

• Place the chest in a protected room or base, since the block remains breakable.
• Use a password that other players cannot easily guess.
• Keep the sacrifice area clear so the villager or sheep dies close enough to the chest.
• Stand near the chest while entering the password and moving items.
• Leave space in your inventory before withdrawing a full stack.
• Use separate chests for different storage purposes, since each placed chest has its own password.
• If you are the owner and forget the password, use Reset password from the owner menu.
