Redstone Roadrunner

Quickstart

1. Craft the Redstone Roadrunner item using the recipe below.
2. Place it on the ground like a block — it will automatically build itself into a full-size SUV made of multiple connected parts.
3. Walk up to the SUV and right-click (or use the interact key) to hop into the driver's seat.
4. Drive with W A S D, hold Shift to dismount, and hold Sprint/Ctrl to force-exit the vehicle if you get stuck.
5. Enjoy an instant top speed of roughly 50 mph — no redstone circuitry required.

Overview

Redstone Roadrunner turns a single crafted item into a fully modeled, rideable SUV. Despite the name, you don't need to build any actual redstone contraption — placing the item assembles a complete multiblock vehicle model that you can immediately drive around your world at high speed.

What It Adds

• Redstone Roadrunner item/block — the main placeable item that spawns the SUV structure.
• Roadrunner SUV structure — a multiblock model (roughly a 4×4×4 arrangement of parts) that forms the visible body of the car. These extra pieces are purely decorative shell parts and are not meant to be placed individually.
• A rideable vehicle entity — driving the SUV puts you in a compact seat hidden inside the visible car body, with a third-person "cockpit view" while driving.
• An on-screen speed/control HUD — shown only while driving, displaying your speed and control reminders.

How To Use

Placing the SUV

Place the Redstone Roadrunner item on any flat surface. It automatically assembles the rest of its body parts around the block you placed, oriented to face away from you. Make sure there's open space around the placement point so the full structure can form.

Driving

• Right-click (interact with) the vehicle to get in.
• Steer and accelerate with the standard movement keys (W/A/S/D).
• Hold Shift to dismount normally.
• Hold your Sprint key (default Ctrl) while riding to force an immediate exit from the vehicle — useful if normal dismounting doesn't work in a tight space.
• While driving, an amber dashboard-style overlay appears showing your speed and control hints. In first-person view, it also shows a "cockpit" style readout.
• The camera automatically switches to a third-person chase view when you enter the vehicle, and returns to your previous view when you exit.

Retrieving the vehicle

Sneak (crouch) and interact with the SUV while no one is riding it to pick it back up as an item, so you can move or store it.

Destroying the vehicle

Attacking or otherwise damaging the vehicle will destroy it and drop the Roadrunner item, along with a breaking sound effect — handy if you need to clear it quickly.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Redstone Roadrunner using iron ingots, an iron block, a crafting table, and a redstone block, as shown in the recipe above. New players automatically receive the crafting recipe the first time they join a world with this mod installed, so it will already be unlocked in your recipe book.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Instant 50 mph top speed — there's no acceleration ramp-up to worry about; the SUV is built for immediate high-speed driving.
• Smooth ground handling — the vehicle naturally slows down when unoccupied and settles cleanly onto the ground without bouncing.
• Hidden rider — while driving, your player model is hidden so the SUV reads as a self-driving vehicle rather than a person sitting on top of blocks.
• Structure-based visuals — the car's appearance comes from its assembled multiblock parts rather than a single custom model, so it renders using normal block textures and lighting.

Progression And Strategy

There's no crafting tree beyond the single Roadrunner recipe — once you have iron and redstone resources, you can build as many SUVs as you like. Use the vehicle for fast overland travel between builds, exploring, or just cruising around your redstone-free "road trips." Keep spare iron and redstone on hand to replace a Roadrunner if it's destroyed, since damaging it will break the structure and return it to a single item you can re-place elsewhere.
