Rainbow Diamond Forest

Quickstart

1. Craft a Rainbow Sapling using dyes and an oak sapling.
2. Plant the sapling on grass or dirt, in an open area with at least 5 blocks of height and a few blocks of clearance around it.
3. Apply Bone Meal to instantly grow it into a full-sized rainbow tree.
4. Break the colorful leaves to collect Diamonds and more Rainbow Saplings.
5. Chop down the Rainbow Log trunk for renewable wood.

Overview

Rainbow Diamond Forest lets you grow a magical variant of an oak tree that produces diamonds instead of just wood. Plant a Rainbow Sapling, feed it bone meal to make it sprout instantly, and harvest a glowing, multicolored tree whose leaves hide diamonds. It's a simple, renewable way to gather diamonds without mining, and it turns your world into a small enchanted forest.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft a Rainbow Sapling from dyes surrounding an oak sapling:

You can also obtain Rainbow Saplings by harvesting the leaves of a grown rainbow tree, making the whole process fully renewable once you have your first sapling.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Planting: Place the Rainbow Sapling on a grass or dirt block like any normal sapling.
• Growing: Unlike vanilla trees, Rainbow Saplings will not grow on their own over time — you must use bone meal to trigger growth. Growth requires open space: a roughly 5x5 area clear of obstructions above and around the sapling for several blocks up.
• Tree Shape: When grown, the sapling instantly becomes a tall rainbow tree with a Rainbow Log trunk and a wide dome of Rainbow Diamond Leaves.
• Harvesting: Breaking the Rainbow Diamond Leaves gives a chance to drop a Diamond, plus a separate chance to drop another Rainbow Sapling — allowing you to keep replanting and expanding your forest.
• Tools: Both the log and leaves are harvested efficiently with an axe.
• Leaf Behavior: The rainbow leaves are persistent and won't decay naturally, so your tree stays intact until you chop it down.

Progression And Strategy

Since diamonds drop randomly from the leaves rather than guaranteed per tree, the most efficient strategy is to plant multiple saplings in a grid, giving each enough space to grow, then bone-meal them all at once and harvest the leaves in bulk. Replanting saplings gathered from harvested leaves lets you continuously expand your rainbow forest, turning it into a steady, low-effort diamond farm alongside your regular mining.
