Description
Right-click to fire a concentrated red energy beam up to 30 blocks; each shot consumes durability and triggers a 5-second cooldown while instantly killing any mob or player that contacts the beam. The beam pierces along its entire path so you can clear groups and hit multiple targets in one shot, and its collision width has been increased so creatures and players near the beam are more likely to be hit—visuals, particles, sounds, range, cooldown timing, durability use, and piercing behavior remain unchanged.

Railgun
Quickstart
- Open a Crafting Table and craft the Railgun (see recipe below).
- Hold it in your main hand.
- Right-click (Use) to fire — a red energy beam shoots forward up to 30 blocks, instantly killing anything in its path.
- Wait out the 5-second cooldown before firing again.
Overview
The Railgun is a powerful handheld weapon that fires a piercing red energy beam capable of instantly eliminating any mob or player it touches. A single shot can cut through an entire group of enemies lined up in front of you, making it one of the most efficient crowd-clearing tools available.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|
| Railgun | A rare, enchantable handheld weapon that fires an instant-kill energy beam |
How To Use
- Hold the Railgun in your main hand.
- Right-click to fire a concentrated red energy beam that travels up to 30 blocks in the direction you're looking.
- The beam emits red particle effects and a distinct firing sound on each shot.
- Any mob or player whose hitbox intersects the beam is instantly killed — the beam has a generous contact width, so enemies near the beam's path are also caught.
- The beam pierces all the way through its full range, hitting every valid target along the line in a single shot.
- After firing, a 5-second cooldown prevents the Railgun from being used again immediately.
- Even boss-tier enemies such as the Wither and the Ender Dragon are not immune — the Railgun deals enough damage to bring them down.
Abilities And Mechanics
| Property | Value |
|---|
| Beam range | 30 blocks |
| Piercing | Full path — hits all targets along the beam |
| Cooldown | 5 seconds per shot |
| Durability | 500 uses |
| Durability loss per shot | 1 |
| Contact width | Wider than the visible beam — nearby entities are hit |
- The Railgun consumes 1 durability per shot. When durability is fully depleted the item breaks and disappears, playing a breaking sound.
- The Railgun can be repaired at an Anvil using Iron Ingots (each restores 100 durability).
- It is enchantable on an enchanting table or anvil using sword-type enchantments.
- The item has a built-in enchantment glint and is classified as Rare rarity.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Railgun at a Crafting Table using Redstone, a Diamond, an Iron Block, and a Netherite Ingot:
Progression And Strategy
- The Railgun excels at line-of-sight crowd control — line up enemies before firing to eliminate multiple targets in one shot.
- With only 500 durability and a 1-durability cost per shot, you have up to 500 shots before it breaks. Keep Iron Ingots on hand for repairs.
- The 5-second cooldown means positioning and timing matter — fire when you can hit the most targets.
- Prioritize using it on boss fights (Wither, Ender Dragon) for a quick takedown, but be aware the cooldown leaves you vulnerable immediately after.
- Because crafting requires a Netherite Ingot, the Railgun is a late-game weapon — prepare accordingly before attempting to obtain it.
