Rage Sniffer

Quickstart

1. Load into any Overworld world — Rage Sniffers spawn naturally as hostile monsters, so you may encounter one almost immediately at night or in dark areas.
2. If you want to summon one on demand, find the Rage Sniffer Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs creative tab and right-click the ground to place it.
3. Keep your distance and come prepared: the Rage Sniffer hits hard and will chase you relentlessly.

Overview

The Rage Sniffer is a large, hostile mob that looks like a Sniffer twisted by fury — same massive body, but with a menacing custom texture and a temperament to match. Unlike its peaceful cousin, the Rage Sniffer is a predator. It will attack players and virtually every other living creature on sight, making it one of the more dangerous overworld threats you can stumble into.

What It Adds

Abilities And Mechanics

• Attacks everything — The Rage Sniffer targets players and all other living creatures. The only thing it won't attack is another Rage Sniffer.
• High health — It has 30 hearts (60 HP), making it significantly tougher than most common hostile mobs.
• Strong melee — Each hit deals 6 damage (3 hearts), capable of quickly overwhelming unprepared players.
• Long detection range — It can detect and pursue targets from up to 32 blocks away.
• Fast movement — It closes the gap quickly, so running isn't always a reliable strategy.
• Ravager sounds — It emits deep, threatening roars and growls during combat and on death.
• Can swim — It won't drown chasing you across water.
• Despawns naturally — Like standard hostile mobs, it will despawn when players move far enough away.

Drops And Rewards

When killed, the Rage Sniffer drops:

• Rotten Flesh — 1 to 3 pieces per kill
• 10 XP — awarded to the player who lands the killing blow

Progression And Strategy

Early game: Avoid the Rage Sniffer if you encounter one unprepared. Its long aggro range and strong attack can be lethal before you have decent armor. Pillar up or use terrain to create distance.

Combat approach: Bow or ranged attacks are highly recommended given its reach and speed. If fighting in melee, use a sword with Knockback to interrupt its attacks and create breathing room.

Area danger: Because the Rage Sniffer attacks all living creatures, it can devastate passive mobs, villagers, and other creatures nearby. If one spawns near a village or your farm, deal with it quickly.

Loot value: Rotten flesh has modest utility (trading with clerics, feeding wolves, emergency hunger in a pinch), so the reward is low relative to the risk. The main challenge of the Rage Sniffer is survival, not farming.
